Home from home. Peaceful, warm, welcoming. My daughter and i stayed in the twin room with a beautiful clear view of inglebrough peak, which we enjoyed walking the next day. An absolutely perfect overnight stay.  Emma is a wonderful host who provides the highest quality food obviously cooked and baked with love. The beds are super comfy too!  Thank you xx

Fabulous stay

I stayed here for three nights, such a beautiful cottage, a wonderful host Emma, tasty breakfast, homemade bread, jam, and cake, what a delight.. highly recommended to anyone wanting a warm welcome.. relaxing time away..

Relaxing , very enjoyable 

This is one of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed in . On arrival, we were given a very warm welcome by Emma and enjoyed tea and homemade cake in front of the fire. Our room was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. Next morning our breakfast was superb. We felt very relaxed in Emma's lovely home.  Thank you so much Emma, we will return.

Super stay

I can’t recommend Rose Cottage enough. We stayed for 1 night and was greeted by Emma with tea and home made cake. Her home is beautiful, the bed is big and the duvet is soft. Everything spotlessly clean. Breakfast was just amazing everything homemade and cooked to perfection. Just beautiful! Thank you Emma, we will be back!

Absolutely lovely

I can't give high enough praise for our stay with Emma at Rose Cottage. From our arrival to the day we left, Emma made us feel completely at home and by the time we left, she felt almost like an old friend.  We were welcomed with tea and homemade cake in the apple orchard. Breakfasts were beautifully cooked with lots of choice and top grade ingredients. Homemade jams, bread, granola, and apple juice from apples in her orchard. Lots of recommendations of local places to go and good company at the communal breakfast table. Rooms were furnished to a very high standard and very homely, and of course spotlessly clean. As I said probably the best b and b experience you could wish for. 

Wonderful stay

We rang Emma late friday evening after running out of options. The welcome was so warm with tea and cake. The breakfast was just perfect each of the two days we stayed. Great location so quite and peaceful. A definite return for us. Emma was such a great host. I really could go on and on. Great nights sleep too.

Absolutely delightful

Our stay began with the lightest, freshest lemon sponge and a refreshing pot of tea overlooking a stunning herbaceous border.
It ended with a sumptuous memorable breakfast of avocado and feta cheese on toast with crispy lean bacon.
No plaudits can be too high for the hospitality we enjoyed.This is a home and garden which could easily grace the pages of any glossy magazine. Thanks Fran for allowing us to share it.

Frantastic!!

This is one of the best bed and breakfasts we have ever stayed in. It’s in a beautiful setting within walking distance of the village of Tunstall. Only 10 minutes drive to Kirkby Lonsdale. We stayed with some friends. There are 2 rooms, one twin (with an en-suite) and one double with an adjoining bathroom. The rooms and bathroom are immaculate and everything has been thought of.   It’s very quiet and we all slept well. You also get the use of a living room with log burning stove, so it’s very relaxing. This room then turns into the breakfast room on a morning. Breakfast was fantastic. Really lovely fruit and cereal and excellent cooked breakfast. All was faultless. Emma was an excellent host and very welcoming. It was a proper home away from home and Emma’s cakes at teatime were a lovely touch. There is also an excellent restaurant at the local pub in Tunstall, the Lunesdae Arms. We will definitely return to Rose Cottage. Many thanks for a fantastic weekend.

Fantastic weekend break

What a beautiful place to stay! Thank you so much for such a lovely night! The cottage was spotless, homely, warm and so welcoming. Best nights sleep we’ve had in a long time! Woke up to an amazing cooked breakfast. We were made to feel so welcome. All the little extras (home made cereal, bread etc) was such a lovely touch. You can really tell how much effort and time Emma puts into making it so special. Thank you Emma. Back home now to all our children, would defo recommend and would love to come back! X

Other recent reviews have said it all. Emma is a warm and welcoming host befitting someone with a background in hospitality. A pot of tea and home made scones on arrival set the tone for a very relaxing and comfortable 1 night stay. Lovely double bedroom with a marvellous view of the garden and beyond. A first class breakfast the following morning. There is gastro 
pub called the Lunesdale Arms within walking distance and a relaxing pub called the Highwayman only a short car journey away.
