Stayed Friday to Monday in a private lodge which we booked via Sykes cottages, best lodge we’ve ever stayed in. Luxurious, clean and homely. Quite hard to find such a combination. Bonus was it was dog friendly! Site very well maintained and pub on site added to the trip. Served lovely food and very professional staff. Closes early Sunday just a heads up. Pool, steam room and gym on site. Now the down side- no dog walk area, so although dog friendly, you’d need to go off site to allow them their freedom. Pool VERY expensive for a family. We purchased a 3 day pass for £142 at 3pm on the Friday but was not allowed to use it after the Sunday. To me, they should be 72hrs use and not 3 calendar days. Tried to resolve this with the man at the desk but was having none of it. 1 person in the gym at 7.15am but wasn’t budging. Gym equipment needs updating and was rusty in places. 
Over all, a lovely site with lovely pub staff. Think the pool
Is run independently and you could tell it was different staff.

Great location to reach the lakes 

On a few visits to the leisure centre over a 3 month period.
I have been shocked at the dreadful lack of hygiene & cleanliness standards to say the least. How this facility can be labelled a 5 star leisure centre I have no idea!
I would have thought one of the main criteria’s would have been hygiene standards.
There is mould in most of the shower changing rooms , the actual floor tiles are caked in black gunge in the shower cubicles where the tiles have been grouted?? This clearly shows they have never had a brush scrubbed over them??
There is no heated floor so the floor in the changing room is continuously wet & does not dry out? There are no bags to put your wet swimwear into or even a spinner to take the majority of water out.
The steam room is a similar experience.
The tiles are broken and mould is in all the tile grouting and in the crevices on the floor! a definite place for bacteria to breed.
If you do pay a visit to use the leisure facility I would advise you take some flip flops.
Towels are also not provided.
I would love to know who has decided to name this leisure centre as 5 star??

Not a 5 star experience 

Stayed in Homelee Lodge, which is located right on the water front. Such a peaceful place to relax and unwind. Most of the places to visit, Windermere, Cartmel, Morecambe are all within 30mins drive.  Would recommend this lodge if you want a peaceful few days away.

Peaceful place to stay.

Lovely tranquil place, well looked after, dog friendly with easy access to the lake district. On site restaurant is closed monday and tuesday. We were in a lakeside lodge which was fab. Local supermarkets 5 minute drive away in Carnforth. We didnt use the pool or spa facilities but they appeared popular. Would recommend.

Will go back

We have just returned from a 4 night stay and would definitely recommend this park. We have stayed in other lodges in the north east however this was the best for many reasons. The 2 bedroom lodge with hot tub was immaculate, we stayed in a Sherwood lodge for 4 with our dog. The lodge was spacious, had two bathrooms which was ideal and provided everything and more that you could possibly want for a short break. The location was picturesque, and ideally situated. We managed a visit to Windermere, a trip to Morecambe and to Blackpool illuminations. 
We ate at the restaurant on site our first night and the food was great. Staff at reception were organised and helpful.
It is well worth a visit and we will definitely be returning in the near future. 

A wonderful relaxing break in peaceful surroundings 

This is our 4th time staying here and we can’t wait to book again. It is always immaculate, quiet and so relaxing. The views over the lake are glorious. The team are always so friendly in the gym and spa. We love bringing our little boy here and walking round the grounds.

Peaceful and family friendly

The lodges were beautiful. The only disappointment was the restaurant closed early (4pm) on Sunday and doesn’t open on Monday and Tuesday! They need to advertise the opening times of the restaurant more clearly.

Family Getaway

We stayed in December and had the most magical stay.. the park is beautiful, there was frost on the leaves which added to the festiveness! A great park, in a fabulous location to explore the Lake District.. only a 20 minute drive to Lake Windermere!

Christmas Celebration!

We stayed here for 2 weeks as my dog needed a major operation at a nearby veterinary hospital.  It was half term at the beginning of our stay so choice was limited.  For the 2 weeks we paid £3200 for Coniston 12 - a supposed Platinum Lodge with hot tub.   If this was platinum I dare not imagine the state of the lower grade lodges.

It was dirty, every door squeaked, no bed side lights in bedrooms, wardrobe area damp, mould in the showers, outside umbrella broken and just littering the entrance, towel rail ring found in the kitchen cupboard, loo roll holder non-existent, yellow stains on duvet, no mattress protectors, carpet dirty, horrible stains on dining room chairs, wallpaper peeling off the walls, dirty saucepans..   I think you get the picture!  See photos attached too.

Because we had to keep my dog calm we could not move so just had to put up with it.   We did comment on leaving and I sent numerous emails when I got home and they were trying to fob me off with a 25% off voucher for a future stay which I refused.

In the end with some perseverance we have received a £500 refund.  This still means the stay cost us £2700!!!

It is clear from other reviews that there are other unhappy guests.  These lodges need a proper clean and refurb in order to sell them for the extortionate prices they do.  It is  very clear that no real quality checks are undertaken by anyone senior!  

Avoid at all costs!!

Avoid - expensive, dirty and very poor quality!

Only great if you like to hear the M6 24 hours a day and have to pay extra to use  amenities like a gym. Pool shut when we went.  . Reception staff very interested in hearing your opinions when they are there only to not follow up on anything. Once you have paid online its 1 big letdown
