The room was perfect.  Clean and ready for the family to stay in.  Enough towels for all of us for showers.  A big part of staying there is The Old Gate Inn food and hospitality.  A perfect stay!

Just stayed at this very pleasant inn for a couple of nights with some friends.  Had an evening meal which was lovely, and all our breakfasts were excellent. 
 We liked it so much, we ended up eating here for our 2nd night too!  The staff were very attentive, especially the Manager - Chris. Parking is free as long as you enter your reg.  We travelled into the city using the park and ride just next door (recommended by Chris) and he also was great at seeing that we had everything running smoothly for our stay and all of our meals.  Excellent service

My wife and I stayed here for a wedding we attended at Winters Barns, which is only 5 mins drive from here. Good quality room, comfortable bed, reasonably priced, helpful friendly staff, and a very good breakfast in the morning. Nothing to dislike at all here and if and when we come back to Canterbury we would definitely stay again.

A family stayed whilst attending a nearby wedding. We had a warm welcome and the five rooms were all tidy and clean. 
The food in the evening was first rate and all served as ordered with a very pleasant lad serving who could not be more helpful. 
The full English breakfast was freshly cooked to order and big enough for the largest appetite. 
Checking out was swift and we were all wished a safe journey home. 
If in the area again ( we travelled from Bristol) I would definitely choose to stay here again.

Our first stay in one of the Inkeeper's Collection Inns was all we hoped it would be.  Very comfortable accommodation coupled with top rate food in a lovely pub.  Chris,  the Manager, gave us warm welcome and he and his friendly & helpful staff looked after us well throughout.

With the Park & Ride literally next door, we were ideally placed for visiting Canterbury without the cost & worry of finding parking.

Very friendly staff , lovely comfortable room, breakfast was very nice,on being shown to room shown fire escape and told where muster point was ( a first). All staff were very helpful and friendly even at the end of the day, can’t understand why it has such a low rating .

The pub is lovely inside as well as the staff are very kind and welcoming. Me and my friends come regularly and are always greeted and have a little chat with the staff! The food is great here and is beautifully served. Will be coming back again and recommend it to others!

We spent one night here and it was excellent. The manager and all staff were friendly and courteous. We ate out at night but the breakfast was also excellent. Will stay here again when we are in the area and would recommend it to anyone.

Arrived looking for a room. We got a warm welcome and were booked in promptly . The manager went out of his way to get us a taxi quickly and we were impressed by the good service, quiality of the accommodation and food. A really good team effort.

Lovely spacious room and bathroom. Was concerned it would be noisy but our room was off street and quiet. Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Great breakfast with options for everyone. Easy parking. Good value for money. Would recommend.

The Perfect Place For Visiting Canterbury

Stayed at the hotel for a nights stay and it was a lovely hotel. Rooms were nice and spacious and great location which has plenty of parking. Really nice breakfast the next morning was worth including. The hotel rooms were situated above a lovely pub which was great for a drink if heading into canterbury for the evening.

Nice stay in canterbury

Stayed here for 3 nights, the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good and breakfast was very good, full English, fresh coffee,nothing was too much trouble. The whole place was immaculate. The only negative was our room was very warm,even though we had a big fan in the room. Would recommend. 

Nice place, very clean.

We recently stayed here for four nights and found it an ideal location for Canterbury and surrounding areas.  Chris and his team were very welcoming and worked well together.  We found the room was very clean and well maintained, as were the pub and restaurant areas.  The included breakfast was very good with good choice as were the restaurant menu.  If you need a decent place to stay in Canterbury we would recommend this any time.

Great place to stay

I stayed here for 5 nights and I’m booked in weekly till the end of the year and I’m so glad I did. The room was of such a high standard… cleaned every day whilst I was at work and my requests for additional items were always met. And if you come to visit then you’ll be served amazingly well especially if you’re lucky enough to be waited on my Chloe 😊 she made my meal and drink experience a delight and homely

Great room and amazing service

Stayed here Monday night before my wedding with so key members of my wedding.  My friend the cake maker needed some space to finish off the cake and the staff were only to happy to corner off part of the restaurant for her to take her time mixing up icing and decorations the three tiers.   

On arrival I was three hours too early to check in but when I explained I had no where else to go they double checked to see if my room was clean and then proceeded to personally show me to the room a den point out the fire exits and muster points for emergencies.  The room was a good size, clean and and the bathroom was modern and spotless.  

During the evening I had several beers all well presented in the correct branded glasses.  I chose a pizza for dinner which was thin crust and very good.  The food here is honest pub grub.

The breakfast included in the price was excellent I had Eggs Benedict.   The ham with the dish was plentiful and thick cut and served with a smile.

My guest and I were all very happy with the hotel and bar facilities and would use again especially as its dog friendly

Having recently frayed at the Inkeepers Lodge, Canterbury, I can highly recommend the hotel, restaurant and bar. Chris the Manager could not do enough to make our stay pleasant, even accommodating some fairly random requests to provide an area to put a wedding cake together 😁. The breakfast was very nice, with flowing coffee and juice. The rooms were. Very pleasant and I would happily stay here again.
