This hotel is spotless and cosy. The grounds are vast and gorgeous.
The food is delicious.
Staff are warm and friendly 
We loved sitting with our drinks in the conservatory in the evening before our dinner. The canapés served were delicious also.

Returned from a wonderful overnight stay here.  A beautiful property in a stunning location, just a short drive from Snowdon, Tryfan etc.  Check in was very easy, and George provided all the information needed for our stay. Dinner and breakfast were outstanding and we were looked after very well by Paul.  Fab team, and a fabulous stay.

Had dinner 4/4/25 on our wedding anniversary. Our first visit. The food was excellent and very reasonable for what it was. Wine selection good and again reasonable. Staff were very attentive. Well worth a visit to eat or stay. It was quiet when we went and I hope more people give it a try.

We recently stayed at the Ty’n Rhos with one of our workshop groups for four days. From the initial booking, to making sure everything went smoothly during our stay Laura and her staff at the hotel were excellent. Really professional, accommodating and with great attention to detail. We can’t thank them enough. The hotel has a comfortable yet relaxed feel resulting in everyone feeling right at home. The quality, taste, flavour and service of the food was excellent. Looking forward to staying here again.

We stayed in Ty’n Rhos for one night taking the opportunity of enjoying their St Dwynwen (the Welsh patron saint of lovers) package: light lunch, evening drinks and 5 course meal, bed and breakfast. It was an interesting formula and we really enjoyed ourselves. The staff are extremely welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. I would have preferred the dining room to be slightly better lit as it was at times difficult to fully appreciate the content of your plate, although the food was excellent.
The bedroom we had on the ground floor with patio (although of course it was too cold to be sitting out in January) was extremely weird appointed, the bedroom extremely comfortable.
Although we live locally we have stayed there before and have always liked our stay. I would certainly recommend this country house hotel, quiet, luxurious and friendly.

We stayed at Ty’n Rhos for two nights leading up to New Year’s Eve, the hotel is sumptuous, well run, with attentive and friendly owners and staff.
Check in was smooth and we were offered a room upgrade, I’d originally booked a ground floor room, which I knew in advance was quite small, the alternative was much bigger and even though I had the stairs to negotiate (they’re not steep) it was a definite yes.
A mini afternoon tea was part of our package, where the word “mini” fits in I don’t know, it was plentiful, so much so my wife couldn’t finish it, everything offered was lovely. We then headed for the games room and had a couple of games of scrabble, other board games and packs of cards are available.
Later that evening we had a three course dinner which was excellent and we met the other guests who were there for the end of year celebrations, all the other guests had been visiting the hotel for a long long time, which says an awful lot about how well they look after you. 
On New Year’s Eve it self we started the day with a choice of breakfast, I opted for eggs benedict, my wife had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, a lovely start to the day, the weather was a little grim so although the other guests head out for the morning and my wife went for a blustery walk, I just stayed in the conservatory using the Wi-Fi which had a strong signal and was available throughout the hotel.
At around 2pm there was a cocktail mixing class given by the owner, so several drinks were taken, that was followed by an air fryer demonstration, which was extremely interesting as well as being tasty! After this we went back to the games room for a couple of games of cards before heading up for a nap prior to getting ready for the big New Year’s Eve dinner, which started with cocktails and canapés at 6-30pm, dinner was five courses, all of which were fabulous, the lobster was very different and delicious and both my wife and I chose the beef wellington main, which was a good decision (I have added a photo, part way through devouring it) after dinner we adjourned to the conservatory where a roulette wheel had been set up to entertain us while waiting for midnight, we enjoyed the roulette but then came the only hiccup in our stay, because of the incessant rain and very strong winds it was decided to dispense with the fireworks display as it would have been extremely difficult to get it on, this decision was taken with the full backing of all the guests and free drinks were given In compensation, we headed up to bed a few minutes early and enjoyed the London fireworks on TV instead. 
We left on the 1st day of 2025 after a full Welsh breakfast.

I can thoroughly recommend Ty’n Rhos and it’s owners and staff, it is everything you could wish for in a country house hotel stay and as it’s popular with film and TV companies you never know who you may bump into.

Beautiful, clean and friendly. Food was exceptional.  Will definitely return. Highly recommend.

My partner and I recently escaped to Ty'n Rhos Country House for a much-needed break, and let me tell you, it was like stepping into a cozy hug from Wales itself! If you're looking for a romantic hideaway where you can eat, sleep, and be merry (all while pretending you’re living in a postcard), this is the spot.

First off, the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted like long-lost friends—which is impressive, considering we usually get mistaken for tired tourists with bad navigation skills (Google Maps really needs to up its game in the countryside). The place was warm and inviting, like the living room of that one relative who doesn’t mind you putting your feet on the couch.

Our room was so immaculate, we were convinced they must have hired a squad of invisible cleaners. The bed was so comfy, it was like sleeping on a cloud, except without the risk of falling through it. And the bath towels? Big, fluffy, and capable of wrapping around you twice—perfect for post-shower toga parties.

Now, let’s talk about the food. We decided to go all out with a three-course dinner, complete with a wine pairing because, well, why not? The dishes were so good that we considered applying for permanent residency in the dining room. And the wine pairing? Let’s just say we may have discovered a new favorite hobby. But a word to the wise: Do not, I repeat, do not ask Phil for a Pinot Grigio unless you enjoy a good ribbing. Phil, if you’re reading this, we love you, but we’ve learned our lesson!

The hotel’s location is spot-on for exploring all the wonders of North Wales. Snowdonia, Anglesey, and Bangor are all within easy reach, making it perfect for anyone who wants to balance relaxation with a bit of adventure. We even got a packed lunch from the hotel for our hike—another win for lazy food lovers like us who prefer our sandwiches without the hassle of actually making them.

In short, if you’re looking for a place where you can feel pampered, eat like royalty, and maybe even learn a thing or two about wine (thanks again, Phil), Ty'n Rhos is your spot. We’ll definitely be back—if for no other reason than to challenge Phil to a wine-off!

We have been to Ty'n Rhos several times and had various rooms all of which have been very well furnished and comfortable.  I really cannot accept the poor reviews from some people on this website, given our experience and they have also had many celebrities stay.  The latter must have visited on recommendation as famous people like discreet service and I am sure that is what they got from the team here.   We find it homely, welcoming well furnished and clean and although a limited changing menu the food is very good. 

In North Wales you could not stay at a better hotel if you want informality, good food, lovely management and staff and within a short distance of many tourist attractions.

We stayed in Ty’n Rhos for 3 nights. We attended a family funeral and decided to visit memorable places. The staff were exceedingly welcoming and helpful. The evening meals were delicious.  There is parking onsite. It is close to Caenarfon and Bangor, making it conveniently located to visit the area.

Location;hotel;decor; ambience;rooms;comfort; food all EXCELLENT. The owners and ALL the staff are so friendly and definitely want to please.They went that extra mile to help us and ensure that we had a great stay. We will definitely be staying again without hesitation.

This country house hotel is an absolute jewel. From the moment we stepped inside the door we felt at home. The hotel is warm and cosy. The staff are extremely professional and welcoming. Our room was immaculate. Big soft bath towels, lovely local toiletries. Very comfy bed. We had a three course dinner and wine pairing, which was excellent. All in all I would highly recommend staying here, be it for a night when "passing through" or for a longer holiday. We'll definitely be back!

Romantic, cosy hideaway in Wales!

This is a lovely country retreat, convenient to the Snowdon and slate region. Our rooms were large and comfortable. The ground floor rooms with direct access to the yard are likely even nicer. The solarium and quiet lounge were very nice, along with the terraces. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and more than ample. Staff were cheerful, knowledgeable and helpful, particularly Hilary. Trust her advice about where to go and what to see.
