We have visited lakeside on many occasions, several times a year over the years. We have seen several changes over those years. This year was one of them. Royale resorts went into administration and the park still carried on with new management. The new manager is doing his best to keep this park and club house going. They have recently had a new entertainment team who are doing a fantastic job bringing a new entertainment guide. Kids club, mini disco, bingo, quizzes, game shows, live acts and much more.   We will return next year for another fun packed time making even more memories. 

Lovely pleasant park lovely staff

Been here twice now, we won't be going again

First the caravan, we upgraded and we can't fault the caravan, it was amazing, clean, everything we needed, would have been nice if staff didn't cut the wet grass as that was a pain constantly cleaning the van out but overall the van was great

The park, nice and quiet, no issues getting our key although one or two came in whilst we were there and keys weren't available, it clearly says keys between 4-5pm in the email but when the it has a big sign in reception saying keys at 5pm, basically not employing enough  clean staff on changeover day, Burnham is a short walk and as always lovely beach

The clubhouse, now this was atrocious, nothing against the staff but no vegan food, the girls ( very young girls) behind the bar lacked any spark, the games room and particularly the pool table was missing balls, nothing we can do mate was the response, bingo is completely rigged, so please don't bother, same table won every night, residents by the way, the boss showed up one night, clear he liked to be in charge but took responsibility for nothing but liked the girls behind the bar

Would we stay again, not whilst the clowns are in charge, what was a stunning relaxing park with good entertainment is now a joke, don't waste your money. 

Lovely caravan, awful clubhouse, staff and terrible bar

Great little holiday camp, clean, tidy, quiet and friendly site, with pleasant staff.
Lovely sized fishing lake with some nice clean fish in it, been to some camps with lakes and seen some very poorly looking fish.
The Caravan was modern and very clean, plates, cutlery, glasses and cookware were spotless, no dust, fresh white linen, central heating was very good, plenty of hot water, fridge freezer and cooker were spotless and modern, kettle, toaster and microwave were a good make, not cheap budget electricals. Both bathrooms were spotless too, I cannot fault anything in the caravan.
Lakeside is a small site, so don't expect too much from the site facilities, club was reasonable, food was an 7.5/10, outdoor swimming pool was closed, but I'd expect that in late October. No convenience store as such, just a few essentials in reception, they have a laundry room too.
The site does have free wi-fi in the clubhouse and you can also pay for wi-fi via a third party, but be warned, the only time we were able to connect was if we were without 100yrds of the clubhouse, once you got out of range it was very unstable, not the sites fault, the third party need to update the routers around the site.
The site is a short walk to the local leisure centre, a small park with free use of tennis courts and a slightly longer walk to the beach, which along that coast is soft, clean sand, council cleans it every morning.


Nice little holiday camp.

Perfect little holiday park. Staff are friendly and helpful. Stayed for 2 nights whilst visiting family. The park is quiet and peaceful.
The caravan was clean and very homely.
Near to shops and beach all within walking distance.
Will definitely be coming back here soon.

Great little holiday park

Lovely park lovely lake to admire , no pool but weathers been unpredictable and rubbish what has ruined it for us it being told Tuesday and Wednesday the gas was out due to the regulator but we left today after getting fed up of freezing in the caravan due to what we believed was a issue to hear a tall man in a hat think he was apart. Of maintenance as he was at a caravan being moved or he may be a owner there but he was talking to a couple of people on the park about how the gas had ran out and that the management was to blame for this well we left had enough a man in a black coat and beard did get a mouthful from us about it cause after hearing that we had been lied too was a disgrace! Sorry for the bad review but we had been freezing !

Regulator issue…….. No gas lies lies lies

When we arrived we went to reception to check and we were met by very friendly staff.
Caravan was excellent clean tidy and had everything you needed for your holiday.
Fishing was good but finding the Carp was hard the smaller which is classed as the silver lake was good except for the heavy weed.
The park is fairly small which for us was good.
Restaurant food was good and prices on the menu and at the bar were reasonable.
Arcade was small and some of the machines were not working.
Overall our stay was good and yes we would come back.
Would definitely recommend.
Burnham On Sea a lovely place to stay with everything close at hand.

Excellent Park

Great value for money. Basic but had everything you needed in our caravan.
We stayed just for the weekend with a few friends. Close to seafront. Fairly quiet park pub with entertainment and small shop on site. Couple of fishing ponds if you're in to that too.

Good value for money 

Visited with my husband for a week and we weren't disappointed. The holiday park is relatively small in comparison to Haven etc, but was just what we wanted. Nice and quiet! The site has a bar and restaurant which is reasonably priced, with food available to take away. There was bingo and entertainment each night although I can't comment on this as we didn't go on an evening. The caravan was very clean with enough equipment for the stay, The drinking glasses were very small so if you want something a little bigger, take some with you. The park has a fishing lake (take your own tackle) a laundrette, a very small arcade and a shop in reception selling essentials that you might have forgotten. The park itself was very clean and well maintained and all the staff were helpful and friendly, I honestly can't fault it! It's situated about a 10 minute walk from the sea front and Burham town and has buses that run to Weston-super-Mare. There are plenty of places to visit in the area and further at less that an hours drive away. When I go on holiday in Somerset again I will definately be booking back in to this park. Lovely

We've stayed here many times over the last 30 years, it's always been a quiet holiday park but it doesn't work anymore, it needs to be modernised  a bit.
The kids were bored the games room is next to useless it really needs attention. 
It used to have an outdoor swimming pool but it seems it has been allowed to fall into disrepair.
Our caravan was clean and comfortable. The park is in a great location we spent most of our time outside of the park.  I don't think we'll be rushing back which is a shame as we have great memories there.

Quiet

This has to be one of the worst, if not the worst site we have stayed on. We booked 7 nights and wish we hadn't even booked one night here.

The caravan wasn't available until 5pm but when we got inside it was dirty, everything was sticky and needed to be washed before we even attempted to do anything. The bedrooms all had a damp, musky smell to them as if liquid spray had been used but then all the windows kept closed during the hot weather. The walls were flimsy and would move with the slightest touch, which was unavoidable due to the lack of space in the bedrooms. The bathroom had even less space and you needed to sit on the toilet to be able to wash...great!

Nothing was checked by the site before getting into the caravan and we know this as the shower was broken (leaking), the mixer tap was broken cold or hot only and the boiler was set to f**king hot. This caused injury and did cause problems for the rest of the holiday. The grill in the cooker took an age to cook anything. Yes, these grills do take longer sometimes but this was broken, flames only at the back of the grill and very weak, not all the way along and making the plate glow red like others

The TV (if it can be called a TV) sat in the corner of the living room and was about the size of my laptop screen. This could not be used for family entertainment with modern shows that have text on the screen.

The "Gaming Zone" was a joke. Half the machines were broken, the other half needed 2p's to work but these were all out of change. When there was a problem with one of the other machines we went to reception and was told "They aren't our responsibility, someone else looks after them but we don't know when they will be onsite"

As for the lake, yes it is a nice lake if you can get around it. Half of it is private and the other half is used by fishing people so enjoyment is very limited at best.

The restaurant was OK, limited choice and nothing for desert except over priced pots of ice cream. Even these were messed up and advertised as "Most flavours gluten free" but when you look only one flavour was gluten free which happened to have other ingredients that cause allergies. Good luck if you order the veggie nuggets as the chef tends to cook chicken nuggets instead. I wouldn't even trust things to be vegan in there as I suspect they cook everything in the same pans and oil

My advice to anyone that is thinking about booking here would be don't, if you have booked cancel it and get a full refund. If you do still intend to go then please set your expectations low do avoid disappointment
