Booked last minute for a Saturday night out. The hotel is located in Low Town overlooking the bridge and river and it has great views. You have to park in a town car park and walk a couple of minutes. 
We arrived to a friendly welcome as usual and shown to our room, which was a good size and had everything we needed. Due to the current situation, we had a small table and two chairs in the room for breakfast. 
We went out on the Saturday night and returned around 10pm and sat at the table for a glass of wine which was nice due to the views of the river. 
In the morning, great shower in a private bathroom which was just outside the room, but for our sole use. 
Then we had a continental breakfast sat watching the river which was a great start to the day. 
The hotel is in a great location and the town is full of shops, restaurants, bars, a great antique centre, the railway with it's steam trains and there is so much to do. 
Next to the hotel (literally) is the funicular railway which for about £2.30 takes you up to High Town. There are steps for those that want them or a steep walk up a hill. 
Lovely town and definitely worth a visit.

Great Location. Great Service.

This is our second time staying here. The rooms have everything you need, due to covid, breakfast was continental to be eaten in your room. 
Only downside is noise from the bar opposite from people shouting which the hotel can not help. 
Central location, lovely view of the river from room 2. 

A central place to stay. 

My parents recently stayed at the Severn Arms hotel for their 40th wedding anniversary. I contacted the owners to see if it would be possible to purchase a bottle of champagne for them to receive on arrival. Despite the inconvenience of having to go to the local shop on my behalf, the owners could not have been more helpful and my parents were delighted, both with their champagne and their short stay at the hotel itself.
I even received a receipt in the post to confirm my purchase, a few days after their stay. I stay in many hotels each year for work and this is the sort of 'above and beyond' service you would not receive from a chain hotel and I felt compelled to share my fantastic experience with a review. Hopefully I will stay here one day myself, to say thanks in person!

First class service

We have just returned from a 2 night stay here and we enjoyed it. The hosts are very welcoming and very informative about the local and surrounding areas. They were happy to give us recommendations for restaurants nearby and also the local attractions. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts there and loved Bridgnorth.

Welcoming Hosts

I must say we had a lovely stay at this bed and breakfast.
No parking but you can drop bags off just outside. We rang ahead and asked where to park. On arrival we were met by the owner Rob. Our room was not ready as we were early so we left the bags and we were given directions to the nearby car park. This was free after 6pm until 8am the next morning. Rob told us just to put some car parking on after 6pm that would carry us from 8am until when we were leaving the next morning.
Lovely welcome and we called back later and were showed to our room. Room was very clean bed was large. Bathroom also a good size. Lovely view from our window. The only thing I would say was the pillows were a little flat. Tea and coffee were provided with biscuits. On our return the milk was going off this could have been that it was a very warm day and I'm sure if I had gone downstairs and mentioned it the milk would have been replaced. We had a great night's sleep.
Breakfast next day was good the sausage as mentioned by someone else on TripAdvisor was not to our taste but as Rob said some people ask where it is from as they enjoy it. This is all personal taste.
We would stay again. 


Christmas present 

We really looked forward to this short stay. Unfortunately it was really disappointing. First thing I had to do was mend the shower as the door was hanging off. The room didn’t appear to have been properly cleaned - lots of cobwebs showed this. The mattress was worn out and all we felt throughout the night was the springs poking us. There was about a nine inch gap between the foot of the bed and the wall.

The stay was a little surprise for my wife and so she asked me not to complain.  When we checked out the proprietor didn’t even bother to ask if everything was ok.

I really do always look for the positive, and you do get a nice view over the river, but this was an uncomfortable night in a not very clean room. Really disappointed I’m sorry to have to report.

Disappointing

I love stopping here Rob and Caroline are the perfect host. I have a great room 3 ensuite and everything you need for a comfortable stay. Breakfast is well presented and tasty. Already booked for next month as well. 

Home from home

I stayed in Bridgnorth on business for 3 nights in March. I got a very good rate B&B via Booking.com. I had a single room with shared bedroom. My room (No 1) was on the first floor. Despite the fact that my room overlooked the main road I found things to be very quiet at night. This was probably further helped by the fact that there didn't appear to be many other guests during my stay.  

My room was clean, comfortable and warm. A little basic and rather old fashioned but perfectly adequate. Tea/coffee/biscuits. The shared bathroom which was right outside my door. Again, no problems. Breakfast was very nice. Freshly cooked and no dreaded hotplates.

My room also had a limited river view.

My room was difficult to work in but not impossible. I'm sure that the owners would have happily allowed me to use the dining room had I asked. I also set up office with my laptop at the local Wetherspoons for part of my stay - wi-fi and unlimited free coffee refills. 

The Severn Arms has a handsome Georgian staircase. However access would likely be an issue for anyone with mobility considerations. There is no parking available at the hotel but there is low-cost parking available within a few a few minutes walk away - you can also drop your bags first.

Bridgnorth is an historic market town and its town center is very pleasant. During my stay I enjoyed a few evenings at the excellent White Lion pub which has its own micro-brewery. The town is divided into 'Low Town' and 'Top Town'. Low Town along the banks of the River Severn is divided from Top Town by a cliff face. The walk/drive to Top Town is short but steep. However there is a delightful Victorian funicular railway literally next door to the Severn Arms which takes you up and down for a very reasonable 80p each way.     

If I found myself visiting Bridgnorth again on business I'd definitely return to the Severn Arms.

Comfortable and Affordable Stay

We booked this a little bit last minute and got a large Double Room for £70 Bed and Breakfast. 
It's located on the main bridge going into the town next to the entrance of the funicular railway which for £1.60 return, takes you up into high town. 
We were greeted by the very friendly owner and shown up to our room. 
We had Room 8, which was on the top floor and a good size room with a private bathroom. Both floors have a large shared bathroom for those not ensuite. There was tea/coffee facilities, large tv and plenty of space. The room was overlooking the bridge and the River Severn. There is a large sash window with double glazing, this can be opened. As it was a Saturday night, the next morning was relatively quiet, but I can imagine you would hear a little bit of traffic on a week day as it is near the traffic lights.
We went out in the evening around some of the local pubs which was nice. It is a steep walk up into high town if the funicular is closed. 
In the morning, we had a good full English breakfast which we went down for at 9.00am. 
Great service and served quickly, nothing was too much trouble. 
We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.
