The Royal Angus Hotel

We recently stayed at the Royal Angus for 2 nights (with tickets for Cadbury world as part of Groupon offer). The staff were very helpful and friendly, the hotel was very clean and tidy. Our room overlooked part of the city with a gothic looking church across the road. The hotel does sit on a main artery in and out of the city, so road/traffic noise was a bit of an issue if you wanted to sleep with the window open. The breakfast was good quality and plentiful . You could get a 3 course evening meal for £20, which was of reasonable quality and served very promptly. Great location, we walked across the road and picked up the canal route, then walked (about 15 mins) along the canal/locks toward the newly formed Brindley place, which has numerous attractions and places to eat, well worth a visit. Our circular route took us back into the centre of the city and to the city museum and art gallery. Again, well worth a visit and has a very grand Edwardian tea room. Plenty to see and do, we only wished we had more time to spend. The car park behind the hotel was a bit costly, but considering the location, not surprising. The hotel does offer 50% off, but it still cost us £26 for the 2 days. Would certainly consider returning.
