The broomhouse farmhouse is under new ownership, the location is perfect for touring the area, the farmhouse is a beautiful building and has its resident peacock, we loved seeing the deer, and the hares which I have never seen who visit the property garden. The beds are very comfy nice bed linen and nicely furnished with all new furniture. Nice and spacious.
There is no wifi, but you can get 4g and a occasional 5g. I feel it would be nice to have had a welcome pack  which gave you a bit of the history and places to visit in the area and where to eat locally. Also wine glasses in the room would be nice. The rooms are not refreshed daily. The breakfast on our first day wasn’t as we would have liked it the bacon and the eggs was not cooked enough and the toast wasn’t toasted enough, but pleased to say the following day it was perfectly cooked which we enjoyed very much. The dining room was rather bland and needed brightening up as it was a beautiful room but the tables had dark tablecloths on and didn’t show the tables off at there best
The owner was very accommodating and knowledgeable and nothing was to much trouble.
I am sure with just a few small touches this place would be a 5 star holiday venue we loved it and would definately stay again when visiting the area.

Lovely place ideal location 

This B&B is under new ownership and has apparently only been operating as such since end of April 2023. The accommodation is very comfortable. Our room was big and has clearly had a refit in terms of decoration and furniture. The furniture is good quality as are the soft furnishings and bedding. The new owner is new to the industry and is keen to have a high end service on offer. To that end he has a start with the lovely property and it's location. Lack of experience in this field shows in places though with little things missing such as water, glasses and biscuits in the bedroom along with a daily tray refresh. Breakfast was fine but delivery and presentation were lacking in some areas with drinks simply being delivered in mugs and hot meals going cold quickly on plates that were not hot enough. These are little but important things. However, this is still a decent bet for a stay in the area if you are looking for a comfortable and clean location.

Comfortable and clean in a great location

We stayed for 2 nights but wished it was longer, great location and Mandy was an amazing host. The location was excellent and well back from the A1 with wonderful gardens and a great breakfast to start every day.  Room was large and bed comfortable. Would stay again without a doubt.

What a great place to stay

We stayed here over the bank holiday weekend and it was ace!! Superb food, lovely hosts , excellent rooms and as for the garden , wow! There’s even a lounge for guests which our friends who now live locally were welcome to use. The peacock was a bonus , as were the chickens.  Can’t recommend it highly enough and will definitely return .

What a place!

Had four nights bed and breakfast here and this is a wonderful place set in beautiful gardens and countryside and easy acess from the A1. Mandy was a great host. Excellent breakfast, beautiful clean rooms, and the two dogs were absolutely adorable. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful place

Mandy is an excellent host. This is not just a b&b but a whole Period house experience without cooking for yourself. This is the second visit my friends and I have made. We had a room each. All with en suites. We had free use of the gardens and upstairs lounge. The breakfast is delicious. We will be back.

Excellent

Absolutely fantastic stay following our wedding. Mandy and Bob are fantastic hosts and made us feel so welcome to their stunning home in an amazing setting. Breakfast was first class. The grounds are great for a leisurely wander and Broomhouse is close to Berwick and other great towns. An all round great stay and can’t wait to return.

Great Post-Wedding Stay

We spent 3 wonderful days here during our Staycation and were delighted with its location , close to Berwick and particularly the grounds and the hospitlatiity shown during our stay. The garden saw visits by Hare's , Peasants , Rabbits and the house Peacock all seen from our room. Breakfasts were ideal. The room VERY spacious (which accomadated my celebration jig at Englands Semi Final Euro win !!)

An Oasis of Calm ...

Broomhouse Farmhouse is a beautiful, quiet, tranquil B&B.  You would never know you were just off the A1.  
Mandy and Bob are perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble.
Within perfect driving distance to local tourist attractions such as Lindisfarne and Bamburgh there is plenty to see and do.
We will certainly be back.

A peaceful retreat

Wow, what an incredible wedding venue. We had our wedding here in summer 2021. It was sheer perfection and we are so lucky to have found Broomhouse! We stayed from Friday to Sunday, and had our wedding on the Saturday at 2pm. Broomhouse could certainly host more guests (the gorgeous grounds are very spacious), but we kept our wedding small with 15 of us. The venue seems very flexible in that it can be wonderfully intimate for small parties but we can imagine it’d also work well for large parties when it becomes safe to do so.

From the moment you enter the driveway to Broomhouse it’s just beautiful. Our guests were all so happy when they got out the car and asked us how we managed to secure such a stunning venue. They absolutely loved wandering around the beautifully-kept grounds and going for little walks in its different parts; from woodland path, to a large sunny lawn with tables and chairs, to more formal gardens, a honey bee farm, and other little gardens and paths. There is a lot to explore, which meant our guests were entertained while we set up and decorated on the Friday evening and Saturday morning.
The fact that we could get married at Broomhouse was wonderful - it made it all very easy and relaxed. We had the ceremony on the porch of one of the gorgeous summer houses, and there’s a little path leading up to it. It was just perfect! We then went inside to sign the registrar with our two witnesses.

We had the marquee as an extra, which took the pressure off with no need to worry about the weather, and we dined in there too (we had a BBQ cooked up by a nearby business who came out to the venue). Turns out the weather was glorious but the marquee was still used as a lovely centrepiece. We also had the fire pit which was just fantastic!! Such a nice thing to do - it added another dimension to our evening, having our guests wander over and take a seat and chat around the fire. It was very cosy.
Mandy encouraged us to decorate Broomhouse however we wanted, and it was all very easy-going. We fancied a rustic feel that let the natural beauty of Broomhouse shine through, so we didn’t need to do very much! Broomhouse is in an excellent location and seems very happy to have other businesses there (such as local caterers) to make your wedding your own.

If we were to try and describe the overall feel of Broomhouse we’d say it’s peaceful, calm, organic, open and spacious yet interesting and diverse, unique, and magical, with plenty of space to dance around and have fun! The rooms are also such high quality - very comfortable, super clean and prepared to a professional standard, and a luxurious feel to them. Our guests were very well rested.

The owners Mandy and Rob are amazing - they went way above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Honestly: we planned this for well over a year and Mandy’s communication with us was continuously excellent, friendly, and she was very patient while we made up our mind about things! We found her local knowledge very useful and she was very accommodating. They are lovely people that really care about you and your day, and your overall stay.

Overall, we couldn’t be happier with our wedding and owe a lot of that to Broomhouse. Such a beautiful setting and lots of happy memories made.
