We enjoyed a one night stop over and the room was cosy, clean and comfy. Everything is new and  worked, which should be a given but isn't always. There was ample, well spaced parking. We ate well at the pub and were delighted at the value for money. The staff were welcoming and I would recommend if you are looking for a warm, traditional, English pub to enjoy a local beer or two. 

Great English pub with delightful rooms.

We wanted a last minute night away not too far from home and stumbled across the woodman inn. Had a lovely nights stay, room was clean and cosy! We ate in the restaurant on the evening, the food was fabulous. Breakfast the following morning was just as good! Would recommend this lovely little place and would definitely stay here again :) 

A lovely find 

We visited the woodman for an evening meal while staying at other accommodation locally. The food was delicious (gammon and eggs + beef burger and fries). The restaurant was busy so there was a small wait for food but the staff were very helpful ensuring we had drinks regularly.  
Dessert is the highlight of my meal, the hot brownie and ice cream was phenomenal. 
I would recommend this pub to anyone looking for a cozy and filling good english pub meal. 

Good old fashioned english pub food

Fantastic hospitality and wonderful room. A fantastically appointed room with everything you could wish for! Beautiful spacious room with a comfortable bed and soft lovely bed linen. Tea and coffee making facilities, bottled water, luxury biscuits etc bathroom was fab as well. We had a gorgeous dinner in the pub too, really tasty and great value for money.

We booked The Woodman for two nights to visit family in Northallerton. The service was excellent from all of the staff who were attentive but relaxed too.

Food choice and quality was very good, both for evening meals and breakfast. The rooms surrounding the rear courtyard were very convenient for loading / unloading baggage from your car parked nearby. The rooms were  warm and quiet, being away from the road and the main building.

The bar on Wednesday evening had a collection of musicians and singers who sang traditional songs which completed our evening.

A great find, good quality, value and staff.

As a family we have eaten here twice and on both occasions have experienced great service and excellent pub food. Recently the Landlord accommodated a 'secret' birthday cake for my wife. Not only that, he brought it through and helped serve it up.  Great pub, great food, great beer and great staff.

Superb food and excellent service

We booked this place for a night away for my birthday we were not disappointed. Room was lovely, food gorgeous,  lovely atmosphere. Ted  was a lovely welcoming gentleman, always friendly and funny.  The rest of the staff were also lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. If you are looking for a warm and welcoming 
Village pub you must go here

Warm welcoming village pub

Very friendly and welcoming staff, room very clean and comfortable. Food on offer was amazing, all home made and very reasonably priced with a large menu to choose from. Made to feel very welcome. Good secure parking.

Excellent would highly recommend

This family run pub with rooms is well located just off the A1 M for a stopover or a longer stay to explore north yorkshire.Rooms are spacious and comfortable ,breakfast to die for ,cask beers on the bar and great selection of pub grub including a chalk board for specials.There is a music night every wednesday which you should try to catch however is not open mike staff members are excepianly helpful and personable Motor homes are accommadated and there is an outside seating area

NORTH SOUTH STOPOVER

The room was lovely clean and comfortable.  We were met with a very friendly welcome and the pub food was home cooked and absolutely delicious.  We hope to be back soon - a big thank you to all the team.
