Battle Golf Club

The room was small but clean and value for money. The surrounding area is beautiful and quiet - deer and rabbits in abundance at night! The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Would recommend as good value for money.

We stayed here for a nearby wedding literally as a place to lay our head. 

Our room was very clean, lovely comfortable bed, hot shower with good pressure and a cracking cooked breakfast - a great place to lay our head.  The views are gorgeous and it is incredibly quiet. The lady on reception was very helpful.

However it was a bit of a surprise when we arrived. It is a funny spot as the golf course hasn't been used for 2 years so you are rather in the middle of the old course which is still kept tidy. Rooms are attached to the old club house and bar area. 

The slightly isolated location is worth bearing in mind if you are not driving or don't want to drive in the evening - you are rather in the middle of no-where (you would have to walk up the long drive to the main road - there is no bar or evening food on site). 

£10 extra on top of room rate for breakfast.

We traveled from North Wales to collect a horse from Battle so this accommodation was very close and had adequate parking bearing in mind we were towing a trailer and was pet friendly as we were taking our dog. 
There were limited facilities on site - the accommodation is set within the grounds of a former Golf Club so plenty of space for the dog!. The room was small but perfectly adequate, clean and warm so no complaints there. I think the main issue is there is no provision on site for food - it was clear from Booking.Com that meals were not available in the evening but it did suggest breakfast was included and available which it wasn't. That wasn't a problem for us but it's good to check if making a booking. The owner was friendly and helpful and we'd stay there again if we were in the area.   

Not as bad as some reviews would make it

The hotel, a former golf club, is fairly basic and looks a bit unloved and deserted from the outside. It’s located on the outskirts of Battle and has good views of the countryside. We drove into town but you could probably walk in 20-30mins (there is a pavement along the main road part of the route).
The room was clean and tidy but quite small and as mentioned the saniflo system makes a lot of noise. 
I had reservations about staying here based on the reviews but it turned out to be fine for our purposes; a one night stay to attend a wedding. 
The hotel can arrange a basic breakfast on a tray but we went elsewhere.

Battle golf club

Just recently I wrote a review about this place. It was not published nor did Tripadvisor have the courtesy to tell me why.
I'll try again.
In brief no longer a Golf Club although still advertised as such on several websites just a run down semi derelict clubhouse. Lady in charge personable and very helpful but obviously struggling to cope under a penny pinching regime. Breakfast OK unless you wanted fruit, cereals etc.which were not available. Room very small-bathroom (shower only) ok
Exterior of building-weed strewn gravel extending all the way to the front door-generally unkempt and unwelcoming.
At £96.00 ( incl £20.00 for breakfast) value for money it ain't. Never again

Ignored by Tripadvisor

My booking for this golf club breaches all trading standards. We booked a family room but was not able to stay as it was so appalling. The golf club is derelict, non of the pictures are correct , the room we where shown was a changing room with no windows apart from a small frosted skylight close to the ceiling. The decor was dirty and mismatched with mustard walls, pink curtains, red carpet, , there was no natural light , we booked I king size ,I double, 2 single. As described on the booking .com and Agoda site, we got a small double and three single in this ex changing room, no restaurant as described, no snacks or bar as described, there is nobody on site day or night. if you have a problem, it has no facilities, .we paid £144.50 for this.we where unable to stay as it was not fit for purpose. this is not a golf club or a hotel ,
