The food was fab, loved the breakfast and the evening meals when available are to a high standard. Loved the unspoilt character of the farm house and out buildings and the fellow guests were really interesting and lovely people. While Jackie relaxed swinging on the tree rope I chilled with my bottle of wine and sat on one of the benches which have fantastic views of the shore line and the sea. Stayed 3 nights but would have stayed longer given the chance. If in the area again I would definitely stay there.

Historic building (1581) well restored. Knowledgeable and friendly hosts. Excellent food with evening meals available. Quality menu with good wine selection. Breakfast cooked to order. Comfortable bed. Turn-off from main road is a little hard to spot but GPS guide helped with this. Would have liked to stay longer.

The negative reviews I suspect are from people who just miss the point and complain as they are so miserable! 

This place is an authentic farmhouse full of charm and character, with the owner who makes you feel very welcome and makes a genuine effort to advise you on activities.  The farmhouse which needs to be appreciated for what it is and not a sterile 5 star hotel full of false commercial staff who are only interested in picking their wage up. 

The owners attention to detail serving food is of a high standard. Service is excellent and I get the impression  if you are good customers you will be looked after well. If you are rude miserable customers you will not get the most from this experience, so who’s to blame there? 

Great location for exploring Snowdonia and spectacular sea views.

If you are fussy and like all mod cons maybe this isn’t t for you, however I would choose this farmhouse all day long opposed to 5 stars we’ve stayed in!

No real problems. Central for our touring and quite a nice room and quiet. TV fine, bathroom fine, bed comfortable, and the food we had ( a meal two nights ) was quite nice. Tea coffee in the room was adequate. its a farm, so the drive up via a farm road is not too much of a problem, and parking is adequate. 

Breakfast was Ok, but we can't help but make the odd observation which could make it 5 stars. Our reception was Ok, but we were told nothing, its very much a case of get on with it. Fire regs ?.  Eateries, etc. Not much info., so communication could improve all round.

We chose our breakfast in the evening, but it seems fairly rigid. If you have not ordered cerial then it seems like you are not expected to have it ( milk was late coming, and my cooked breakfast arrived before I had chance to get any cerial.).. Would it not be better just to let guests help themselves and to put the milk on the table as in many other B&B's 

The reception and main dining area are gloomy, but perhaps the is in the nature of the building. We thought it looked a bit tired in parts and could do with a good clean both room wise and downstairs.

Overall a Pleasant Stay

This little place isn't what it was advertised to be, the website is very misleading. Firstly the prices are wrong, as it's £35 for a night when it is advertised to be £28. They forgot how many nights I had booked to stay and almost double booked the room which caused a panic. They also say they include evening meals which they don't. Speaking of food, the breakfast on the first day saw mouldy toast. However, the rest of the mornings were fine. 

The website presents the place to be a place of cheers and friendship, which is certainly not the vibe I got. They bill themselves as the "funny farm" due to their sense of humour, but the graveyard right next door rather weakened the atmosphere. I arrived to find a very run down looking building. If you don't trip up on the crumbling footpath to the front door, you are greeted by the owner. I'll admit, it was at 9pm I arrived, so perhaps she was tired, but she more or less just pointed at the door and left me alone after about 2 minutes of introduction. However, I had this same attitude all week. No offers to help me carry bags or show me around. The couple were well-aged and were out of breath sometimes just walking from the kitchen to the dinner table, about 10 metres. Because of the isolated location, I doubt there'd be anybody to help them if they had an accident, which rather worried me in case I had to get involved or possibly even be forced to leave because there would be nobody in the house should they be hospitilised. 

The interior of the hallway was fairly gloomy although decorated by some hundreds of artefacts. The room had clearly not slept in for a while before my stay because the place was covered in cobwebs. During my stay I found snails living on the window sill and worms in the shower! Also, the walls were paper-thin and I could hear the people above me who woke up at 5am to unpack and move out, waking me up.

The facilities were standard. The cupboards and chairs in the room were useful if a bit cheap and hard to use. The hot drinks supply was plentiful and there was a TV which I spent many hours watching. The bed was comfortable and cleaned daily which, if anything, that's the one thing you'd hope would be god in a bedroom, so I'm glad it was. 

The surroundings are beautiful, but there were nicer looking areas which had places to stay just a few minutes down the road which I passed on my travels. I know it isn't anybody's fault, but towards the end of the trip the lovely views were ruined by clouds. Again, not blaming anybody but it is worth pointing out that the views promised may not always be available. The town centre is a short walk away and has a Co-op for lunchtime snacks and there are several take-aways/chippies, although they close at 8 for some reason! I didn't realise this until it was too late and had to go without dinner one night. Finally, the farm that the place is located on obviously produces certain smells from time to time. 

Overall, I probably would not go there again. I found most of these flaws in one go on the first and second days of my week long stopover, so the initial impression was quite shocking, but as the week went on I found it to be adequate but nothing good.
