The New Inn

We stayed two nights at this delightful Inn whilst in the area for a wedding.  What a find. There are only two rooms available, and the attention to detail and the guest comfort were 100%. The bed was super comfy, and we slept better these two nights than we've done in years. The hosts were absolutely fantastic and made us feel so welcome.  I would not hesitate to recommend The New Inn. Certainly, at least a 4 star establishment in our view.  

One of my most favourite places to go for food, the owners are lovely and friendly, the food its lovely, been a few times and loved it - great portion sizes, me and my boyfriend wish we had come a lot more before and we will be attending very regularly!  The cider on tap is also very lovely and its a nice cosy setting to go for a few drinks, will be returning as soon as we can and i would definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone, 100% how a pub and restaurant should be run, couldnt fault it.

Delicious home made food. Really lovely evening spent with friends and kids. Dogs welcome too. Lovely old pub but very comfortable. Staff very friendly. Gave the kids puzzles to solve which they loved. 

5 stars are not enough! Comfortable rooms at this very friendly Inn with great locally sourced food and a well stocked bar. The Innkeepers went out of their way to offer amazing hospitality. The rooms are spacious and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was a traditional Scottish affair with all the trimmings and our evening meals were marvellos portions and very tastey. 

A warm welcome, tasty food, amazing baked goods, lovely atmosphere and dog friendly!  We felt welcome as soon as we entered this cosy pub (the pictures really don’t do it justice). We arrived earlier than planned but our hosts went the extra mile to fit us in.   The menu was small but - as is often the case - this proved to be a good sign as everything was carefully prepared and delicious.  There was home-baked bread to buy.  Prices were extremely reasonable and my partner’s favourite real ale was on tap.  Service was amazing.  This will probably be a new favourite pub.  We will definitely be back!

You just have to stay here! And eat and drink here! The landlord and landlady, Gary and Maxine, have clearly used lockdown working very hard and invested considerably to make The New Inn experience even better.
Nothing is a problem for Maxine, who is also the fount of information about local history and interesting places to visit, and she is always at hand for anything you need.
Gary is the alchemist in the kitchen preparing fantastic food from a regularly changing menu; his breakfasts are historic, of course, and the perfectly soft boiled eggs, accompanied by home-baked toasted bread, are legendary.
The ever-changing selection of real ales and whisky selection are a treat too, and rumours of a new Foggieloan Microbrewery at the pub in 2022 are enough to entice us back to this splendidly rare centre of hospitality very soon.
Gary and Maxine deserve every success in the future!

We enjoyed a fabulous stay with the very welcoming landlady and landlord of The New Inn. Nothing was too much trouble and the landlady in particular made some great suggestions for our itinerary during our explorations of the local area. Breakfast was wonderful and served in the newly refurbished dining room. It is clear both money and time has been invested in both the pub area and rooms over the last 18 months. The room was spacious and comfortable and contained all we needed for an enjoyable stay. We hope to return in the future and wouldn't hesitate to recommend The New Inn.

Splendid as usual, tasty home cooked meals, lovely service, and the outside garden at the rear looks fantastic! I even love the bathroom which was decorated with Marilyn Monroe portraits. It's the heart of Aberchirder and its lovely to spend time there

Charming original inn. Cosy and welcoming for drinks  or local Homemade food . Orkney crab pate is delicious. Fish and homenade steak pie with creamy buttery mash potatoes a must.
Good house  wine. Great staff . Lovely garden to rear.  Very family friendly

We loved every minute of our 1 night stay. Had we known in advance how wonderful a place The New Inn is we would have stayed an extra night before heading west. We have rarely experienced such warm hospitality. Large clean rooms with all you need to make yourself comfortable, a genuine cozy bar with a lot of soul and the most friendly and helpful hosts ever. We highly recommend The New Inn to anyone!

A must place to visit/ stay/ eat/ drink if you are in the area.

Warm atmosphere, fab food, real ale, dog friendly.  One of the best pubs in Moray.

Fabulous stay

One of the best stays we've had in Scotland

I stayed here for the second time this weekend as they were brilliant last time and this time even better. The rooms are beautifully done with those tiny touches many places miss that really make it welcoming. The dog is very welcome too. I arrived after the kitchen had closed thinking through my disorganisation being late that I had missed dinner. They kindly offered to find something for me and when I came down to the bar 20 mins later I was presented with the most delicious steak pie and 3 types of veg. It was perfect and the definition of going the extra mile.

First time to this establishment - and we will certainly return.  Had dinner with friends and had a great fun evening. Good selection on the menu and good prices and food was excellent.  Very relaxed atmosphere.  Service was good and staff very friendly.  Limited wine selection but what we had was good. Finished off the night with a game of pool in the bar.
