Lovely two night stay.
Warm welcome and friendly staff.
Very comfortable room with an amazing view of the castle. Dining room currently closed for dinner,but we had a fantastic meal at their sister restaurant The Potted lobster a minutes walk  from the hotel.

Never usually leave reviews, but had such a lovely stay here last week - staff are really friendly and helpful, breakfasts are excellent, rooms really comfortable and a great central location. Highly recommend, and hope to stay again soon.

We stayed at the hotel for two night, meant to be three but my daughter was ill so we had to go a day later. 
The staff couldn’t do more for us, they are all so lovely and friendly and make you feel so welcome.
When we checked out they only charged us for two nights instead of three which was really kind and we did not expect it! 
I couldn’t recommend the Sunningdale enough and we will certainly be back soon!!

Since we were spending a full week here, we booked their best deluxe room - 1st floor with an extra "room" or seating area with 2 large, comfortable chairs and a streetside view.  Very roomy.  Friendly staff.  Good breakfast.  Good bed and shower.  At the time of our stay, there was only one other deluxe room, but staff told us new owners intend to create more.

This hotel is lovely. I stayed here with my partner and we were met by the warmest, friendliest team. The rooms are spotless and modern. I have seen other reviews say their too small but they’re cosy and there’s plenty of room. The area is stunning and the breakfast was fabulous. All in all- 5/5 stay. Thank you to the team x

We had four nights at The Sunningdale with no complaints, lovely breakfast, wide variety of choice. Staff friendly and helpful, a big shout out to Korina who could not have been lovelier or more helpful when my drinks bottle leaked blackcurrant squash on the bed. Thank you for being so kind.

We were so pleased to arrive here and receive such a warm welcome. Car park is tricky to manoeuvre into, had space on the first night. Lovely staff, superb evening meal on first night. Sadly not open on second night. Our twin room was bijou, but comfortable. Cannot commend hardworking, funny, lovely and efficient staff enough. Thank you

We loved our stay here and so did our dog. Staff so friendly and helpful, great breakfasts and a sausage for the dog !

We stayed at The Sunningdale for 2 nights at the end of July. We had a lovely stay in this little hotel. Bamburgh is gorgeous and there are some lovely pubs / restaurants nearby but book in advance as they do get busy. The room was clean and bed comfortable and my parents said the same about their room. The staff are great and a big shout out to Jodene for looking after us, she’s just great. Breakfasts are lovely quality and we ate in the restaurant one of the evenings which was fab also. Such a beautiful part of the country and we will definitely be back.

Large double room. Shower/loo ensuite. 
Wall mounted TV. Tea/coffee/biscuits. Comfy bed/pillows . Quality linens and curtains. Small desk area, small hanging space for clothes. Chest of drawers and lots of floor space. 
Perfect for visiting the area. Very nice bar/dining area and a pretty good menu with lots of choice.

We have stayed here twice before. I had to reschedule the booking due to a bereavement & the lady couldn’t have been more accommodating & sympathetic.The staff are incredibly friendly-the place has been further decorated since my last stay, to a high standard.The restaurant was only open one night of our stay which was a shame as the food was fantastic & reasonably priced with great service -we’d definitely have eaten there again had it been open. The hotel has its own parking which is a bonus & is in a quieter location than the main street.

A fantastic hotel, booked the family room, 1 double bed and two bunk beds, clean and tidy, rooms cleaned every day with tea/coffee in the room. Breakfast was included with the price and was superb, cooked breakfast or cereals and croisants etc self service. Brilliant place with a bar couldnt do enough you! Will deffo go back.

Lovely weekend away in Barmburgh and stayed at The Sunningdale Hotel.  Parking was an issue but you need to accept it as its a small village that is very popular. Our room wasn't the biggest I've stayed in and was a bit too small for 2 adults and the pooch but was ok. Breakfast was excellent and so was the service. Saturday afternoon there was a power cut and the whole village had no electric from 3pm, so no one could go to restaurants and pubs. The Sunningdale had a bar that could serve bottled beer and wine and had the wood burners on, so everyone sat around and chatted for the evening. It was certainly different, but everyone  managed in the end. Would we return, yes we would.

Lovely weekend in Bamburgh

Just finished my 3 night midweek stay here and felt the need to write a short review. I really enjoyed my stay here. The single room was perfect for me on my own and was very comfortable. I booked back in January and got a crazy deal - I almost felt guilty paying so little, especially with a full English breakfast and jug of fresh coffee thrown in every morning! 
A lot of what makes this place great is the staff. They were always helpful and friendly and always took the time to chat to me. I never felt like they just wished I would clear off and leave them alone - I mean, they might have secretly wished it lol, but it never showed :) The service at meal times was excellent, attentive and everything was impeccable. I'm unlikely to return to Bamburgh as I feel I saw all I wanted to see in the area, but if I ever did for any reason 100% I would want to stay here again. You absolutely cannot go wrong. Again, big thank you to all the staff.
