Premier Inn Ayr A77 Racecourse

We have had a great stay at the Ayr Racecourse premier inn. Not only is it clean and modern and easy to get to from the motorway but the staff are excellent. Andrea and her colleague on her reception were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for our young family. The restaurant and food was good and nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

I came expecting a space in the car park,  quality service on arrival and throughout, a hot shower, a quiet night's sleep in a comfortable bed and a great breakfast. I got them all for a decent price. The location was 8 minutes from my Burns night supper, and my husband refuses to stay anywhere except Premier Inn,

Once again LeeAnne and her staff were excellent as usual. I'm originally from Ayr, lived in Spain and now Austria, and have returned many times over the past 25 years to see my parents and family, always staying at the hotel. 

I don't normally write long reviews but I feel that Premiere Inn needs to know just how brilliant and special LeeAnn and her team are.

During my stay Ayr was hit by the full force of Storm Éowyn and as a result Prestwick Airport closed at very short notice which meant that no flights were able to take off for the whole day, which left many passengers  stranded without any idea of what's to do. no problem for LeeAnn and her team who worked like crazy and made sure that all passengers got a bed for the night  and some of the kitchens excellent food and drinks.                              
So I just wanted to say how impressed I was with LeeAnn and the team who were there for the guests many hours outside there normal working time and as always looked after everyone with a smile. big shout out to the kitchen and bar as well for coping with the hugely increased workload, and also thanks for my excellent Gammon Steak and Eggs 👍


The staff are happy friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and comfortable with good rooms. Parking is good and location is good.. Staff are always available if you need anything and strive to make your stay as stress free as possible. The hotel is clean and calm.

The hotel is easy enough to find with loads of parking.  

Note: if turning right from Heathfield road into Wheatpark road be careful of the traffic lights as they are not synced! When the facing traffic light was red the oncoming light was still green - pretty dangerous in my mind! 

As one might expect the decor is fresh and reception was staffed with friendly smiling faces. Checking in was a doddle. 

Security cards are needed to use the lift - a stay safe feature. 

The room was nicely laid out with clean crisp bedding extending to brilliant white towels in the bathroom.  (Whilst soap in a squeeze bottle is provided, it’s fairly ordinary stuff even though branded  Baylis and Harding)

The hotel provided two cards for the room. One for entry and the lift and the other to keep the power alive aka the heating. A nice touch as the weather was freezing! 

We did use the bar facility - great service, but not particularly cheap. 

At breakfast the normal hot buffet was replaced with an ordering fresh from the kitchen.  That food arrived as ordered - piping hot.  There was also a selection of cereals, fresh fruit salad, yogurts, breads as well as a range of teas and coffees. My only recommendation was that the bread needed covering as the ambient temperature had started  drying it out. 

Checking out was ultra quick too with more smiling faces - really set up our day. 

This was a very relaxing short stay.

Room decorated to a high standard,modern and comfortable.  Tea/coffee facilities in room and you can pick up extra supplies from reception.   Bed sooo comfy . Plenty parking facilities at front,rear and side of hotel.  Great Retail park a few minutes away when Plenty take away places,greggs,Costa,subway and burger king.  Prestwich and ayr a few miles away.  All in all a great stay at a reasonable price.

Very clean hotel, room was modern and clean.  Bed and pillows very comfortable. Lovely bathroom with walk in shower.  Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help you.  We had breakfast in the restaurant and it was very good value and plenty of choice.  Very good and accommodating for children re meals and fresh milk.  Excellent location and handy to park as plenty of room.

Stayed here for one night just for a short break around Ayr. Booked before we realised Golf at Troon was starting
and got a room for a good price. Had booked the new style evolution plus room to compare it to the normal evolution standard room we had tried elsewhere to compare the difference.
Staff were all very pleasant and engaging. Our room was very small though. Probably one of the smallest premier inn rooms I’ve been in. Probably fine for a single person but as a couple we kept getting in each others way. The shower room was tiny but had a nice shower. This hotel only has showers so wouldn’t necessary be my choice again as I always prefer a bath. Room decor is nice but the new style reigns in surface space. It’s nice having comfy chairs and a little table though. I’d probably opt for a normal room in future as I don’t think the little extras make much of a difference for the price. Don’t like the corridors with fragrance. The windows open which I like. 
The hotel itself is a bit more isolated than I thought it might be but easy to access from the main roads, car parking was free and plentiful. Chose a meal deal due to the location. The only problem is that for me there are not many options on the menu I would choose and having stayed at many premier inns recently the food is a little repetitive but it’s ok. Breakfast is just something it’s there and not necessary what I would choose for a breakfast out. I don’t drink tea or coffee and there’s no option for say having a hot chocolate for breakfast instead. 
Didn’t like looking out the windows when eating there straight at smokers in the area outside. I believe all the rooms have been refurbished but not the public areas which is a shame as first impressions count and crumbling concrete around the door way and old floor tiling doesn’t give the best look for a place especially as some nights here can be quite expensive due to demand.

Good hotel, very helpful staff. Good choice of food at both breakfast & evening meals. Ample free parking, sliding doors at entrance making it easier for someone like myself having to manure a wheelchair user. Over all, exactly what we would expect from this chain of super hotels.

Very clean and well presented hotel with very good food. Staff are friendly and very accommodating. Plenty secure packing. Have been before will come again.

Amazing staff and great stay

Slept like a baby

Great location. The lady that checked us in on Friday afternoon at around 6pm was brilliant, so cheerful and helpful, a real credit to premier inn. 
We are dinner here on the first night. There was a female member of staff in the restaurant and bar area who was supposed to be managing that area. We waited at the plectrum to be seated. The staff member was more interested in flirting with a drunk male sitting at the bar who she clearly knew  ( we were stood right in front of her). After waiting for around 5 minutes without any acknowledgment the female disappeared upstairs with the drunken male! 
The poor lady that had checked us in on earlier came over and seated us and took our drink order. After around 10 minutes the other female still hadn’t reappeared. The other lady from reception was running around, clearing tables, rushing back to reception to check people in. She then took our food order. The other female eventually reappeared and was lazily lolloping around doing nothing while the receptionist was serving at the bar, clearing tables etc. the lazy one cleared one table. The lazy female eventually bought out our dinners which were cold! The eggs, chips and other items were so cold that we left them! She had just left them sitting in the side rather than bringing them to our table whilst they were hot. She didn’t even ask if we needed anything when slamming the food down and disappearing. The lady on reception had to take our payment as Lazy had seem us eating to pay and just left us standing there for 10 minutes whilst she hid in the kitchen so she didn’t have to work. The worst employee that we have come across at the premier inn, we feel sorry for her colleagues having to pick up the slack. 
The other staff were all really helpful and kind. The housekeeping lady was lovely on Saturday morning. 
The room was clean and modern, different to any other premier inn that we have stayed in with purple lighting in the bathroom. The room was really nice. Even though we were opposite the lift, there wasn’t any noise. 
The parking was good as well. 
We would return.

Stopped here two nights and the hotel is lovely and quiet.  The comfort you can expect from the premier.   We needed a twin room due to medical issues and the rooms are double.  However they happily made up the sofa bed very quickly and it was super comfy too.     Did not eat here as had breakfast in Ayr but would definitely stop here again.
