Gorilla Haven Lodge is a true gem—and a model of community-run ecotourism. Profits go directly back to the local community, making your stay meaningful as well as memorable. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the setting is absolutely stunning. The beautiful common area opens onto a large deck overlooking the magnificent Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and layered mountain views—perfect for birdwatching or simply soaking in the serenity. Reliable WiFi is available in the common areas. Our room was wonderful: gorgeous wooden architecture, a comfortable mosquito-netted king-sized bed, hot shower, and thoughtful touches like a table and chairs, plenty of outlets, and cozy hot water bottles at night. A private porch with a cushioned seating nook made it even more special. The only small improvements would be adding WiFi in the rooms and several wall hooks for clothes and gear. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. As someone with a dairy allergy, I truly appreciated the care taken to accommodate my needs without sacrificing flavor. The coffee and ginger tea were especially good. Extras like a well-stocked bar, massage services, and a small artisan shop added to the experience. Highly recommended for anyone seeking comfort, beauty, and purpose in their birding, gorilla, or nature trekking adventure.
