This place is just FULL of birds! I am a keen birder but was there to see the Mountain Gorillas (about 2 hours drive away). I have to say that the wildlife in the lodge was more of a highlight than the Gorillas! I got photographs of dozens of bird species in two short evenings, including several specialists of this very special region. I have been in birding hotspots all over the world but this was the best that I can remember. Would love to go back for a much longer visit.

Stunning birding experience

My husband and I arrived at the Mucha Lodge in the middle of the afternoon so they weren’t expecting us for lunch. When we asked for something to eat they immediately offered to prepare a sandwich for us. It was delicious and we ate  it at the varanda admiring the stream and the birds there. The dinner was wonderful too. 
The next day we went early in the morning for the gorillas trekking and they prepared a delicious breakfast (5.00 am) and a bag with a lunch for the day. 
All the time they did everything to please us. The staff are really special. 
The bedroom was nice, clean with a beautiful view.

Relaxing and amazing place

I slept in this lodge one night. 
What I really like was that everyone was welcoming and happy and always gentle. 
the accomodation was comfortbale and they also have a cute shop. 

I totally recommend it !

A quite place to stay

Went to Kisoro looking for a quiet place with privacy and Mucha was the best choice being located a distance from town. The lodge has nice rooms without view but you can choose to seat near the river. The Chef Mubarak who at the sametime work as the manager wasn't good enough to make my stay memorable.I would not choose to stay again if I knew he still works here. He can only help you when he's making money. I had booked with him through Google, he arranged for me an expensive vehicle from Kisoro town but I found I was supposed to pay half price of what he charged me! He makes food too expensive but because you have no choice, you have to pay! I ordered breakfast at 7:00 but instead delayed making me leave without breakfast as I was going for other activities.
However, there is good environment when you seat in the gardens, no noise, and other staff are polite, beautiful rooms, the dining is absolutely astonishing.
I would recommend this place only without him.

Disappointed

I have been at this place it's a nice and  quiet place good food , accomodations was the best i loved 💕 and the hospitality was mwaaaa,the secret stream , the fire place, the hospitality, and customer Care i recommend for any stop over in kisoro

Recommend to visit

A boutique and serene hotel in Kisoro town and pocket friendly accommodation. Half an hour to reach the Mgahinga National Park and perfect place for resting for gorilla trek. We were a group of 8 people and the chef tried to make Indian food too. The tiny stream in front of the dining is a treat with constant sound of water trickling with mountain backdrop. Rooms are clean and showers are fine too. Our waiter Innocent and the chef took care of us well and always smiling...Staff just needs to be informed in advance of any plans as they are a bit laid back. But best place to u wind and get lost in beautiful thoughts! 

Quaint and serene

This is a little gem of a lodge located about a 30 minute drive from the Gahinga forest. 

The rooms are clean and well appointed. The grounds are well groomed and run along a section of river that attracts many birds, about 50 of which nest in the area. Birders are well advised to keep a pair of binoculars handy. Photographers will do well with a zoom lens in the 100-400mm range. 

The service is efficient and discreet and whoever is working the kitchen knows what he or she is doing. The food is excellent, varied, and abundant. The included breakfast is superior to most other properties that I have stayed at in the region.

Free WiFi is available, but reliability and speed is inconsistent. 

Overall an exceptional value. I would book another stay here without hesitation.

Excellent property.

We have stayed here for 2 nights. The food from chef Opio has been the best food we have had in Uganda so far. He is also very friendly. 

The accomodation in general is very clean. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very spacious. The garden is beautiful. 

The location is excellent for the Mgahinga National Park. 

We loved our stay here! Thank you very much.

Great experience, most amazing food

We were in love with the hotel as soon as we walked to the river and had a look around.  We loved looking out at the mountains and the gardens in the small village.  Our tour provider put us there because we were seeing the gorillas and golden monkeys from Magahinya.  The food was also phenomenal and the manager obviously has a passion for food and cooking which was clear with the care taken in each meal.  Unfortunately this wonderful experience was marred by horribly uncomfortable beds.  Ours was rock hard and had a plastic covering underneath the sheet which made us much hotter than we needed to be. My husband and I barely slept.  We wanted to recommend Mucha absolutely, but the beds need to be improved for the level of accommodation this hotel is supposed to be and the cost.  Also we would recommend locked screens for the sliding doors as well.

Great food but need new beds

From the beautiful clean rooms, serene environment, friendly staff, Mucha was a tiny haven for my mom and I. 
The best memory I have of the place are the meals😍😍😍😍 the chef was consistently amazing! Kudos to the management. Everyday, there was something different and still amazing. 
Regardless of the fact that the manager wasn’t around, everything the service just perfect. We didn’t have any hitches. The staff were just amazing. 
I would recommend Mucha for any traveler that is looking for a clean, comfortable, serene place to stay at in Kisoro. I will definitely be back when I am in Kisoro.
