A great hotel for business travelers. Nice swimming pool, Good food, great rooms and excellent service staff. Except for the location everything is fantastic. I recommend this hotel for those looking for a friendly quiet place to stay.

Nice Swimming pool and great customer care

I stayed here for one night after the Lodge made a mistake in my booking.  I found this hotel had nice grounds, courteous staff and large clean rooms.  That said, the devil's in the details.

We had travelled about 15 hours across Uganda to get to the hotel and arrived late at 10:30pm or so.  We had dinner (which was actually quite good) and asked our waiter about breakfast in the morning.  He said that we could order something that night for 530am including coffee, toast, eggs and fruit.  

We went to sleep expecting food.  The room itself was large with good AC.  The bed was awful, you could feel the springs in the mattress (time for new mattresses).  The paint in the bathroom was chipping and the plaster crumbling in places.  I also didn't have hot water for a shower which was a real disappointment.  I found a spider in my bed net, but then that's not altogether surprising.

What annoyed me was that when I woke up half an hour early the following morning to eat, I found a receptionist asleep on the couch in the lobby and no food had been prepared.  Then, instead of going immediately to prepare something for me and apologizing he simply told me it was the chefs job, the chef was not starting until 6am, and that was it.  I found him playing on the computer at 545 and asked why he couldn't do something.  He lied and said he was making me coffee and trying to make something for breakfast; not entirely sure how you make breakfast while on a computer in a different room!

Our ride arrived on time at 6am and we left for meetings.  Wouldn't stay here again.

Not too bad

We went here three times during our latest visit to Uganda.
Our last visit was for a wedding anniversary party which was very good value at about £400 for forty people. This included two nights stay for the wife and me.
The pool was good to swim in.
The bedrooms are about par for Uganda apart from bedroom one where we spent one night, it has private balconies.  Worrth stating in for a week I would have thought.
One quibble was another party who turned up in a car with government plates who seemed to resent a party including three bazungo.
