Hotel Jimmy's Place

The owner Jimmy is one of the most friendly and clever man. Ali rooms are large and nicely decorated. IT is not 5 stars, but very good for TIS price.  Jimmy's place is in the center of a small and very nice town.   We will come back, I hope soon.

Centrally located.  Great for backpackers.  An ample library greets you when you enter with trip advice for all of Turkey.  Jimmy certainly seems the ever-present force and can calmly and at length entertain your questions and musing on Turkey, give travel advice, as well as carpets.  A relaxed atmosphere to learn about different carpets after the sensory assault of Ephesus tours.

Near the Resturant s , bus depot , transportation , outside weekly is street bazaar , nice breakfast   Awaiting to go back as Selchuk now my third town to live due to good food and activities from old 7,000 years to newly built . A good safe town that looks after the tourists

Spacious, cozy, and super friendly

Great Selcuk hotel!

Downtown

With rooms large enough to move in and a friendly host like Jimmy, this hotel was great for one night in Selcuk. It is close to the markets, to restaurants and to shops.

The bed was comfortable enough for us. Sure it is not new and some things are a bit dodgy, especially in the bathroom, the shower flow and water temperature control was dubious with the shower head not holding onto the wall properly. There was not much light in the bathroom with half the lights not working. But the room was large and it had a sort of olde worlde charm about it. Of course the key was needed to activate the power in the room but that seems standard for this level of hotel in Turkey.

There is a lift that can be cantankerous, so other than taking suitcases, we used the stairs.

Breakfast was basic but sufficient.

Jimmy has spent a lot of time in Australia, so his English is fine and he was a really helpful fellow. He is a bit jaded about TripAdvisor as he says people have tried to blackmail him for discounts to write good reviews which is very sad for us as a community. But honestly given the age and the standard of the hotel it is fine for a night or three if you don't expect too much.

It's locality to Ephesus and the local museum as well The Basilica of St John make it an ideal place to get your fill of the history available in the area.

Central and Clean but not new

We came to this place whilst on a Peregrine tour. One of the proprietors has lived in Australia and speaks good English and gave us a warm welcome. However, by the time we entered our room, we were more than disappointed. Almost everything in the room was either broken or not working, ie windows didn't shut properly, lights did not work, the bed was uncomfortable and the bathroom door would not close, as well as many other little, annoying things. As we were only staying here for one night, it didn't bother us greatly but more than that would have been awful.
Our room was quite large, with several windows, but faced a mosque directly across the street which meant a loud awaking at 4.30am with the call to prayer.
The hotel is right in the centre of town so within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants and local sights. It is very a pleasant town to wander around in the evening.
The breakfast buffet did not open until 7.30am and even then was not really ready for us. The waiter was sent out to buy sugar and butter while we waited but kindly bought fresh apricots for us while he was out.
In summary, the hotel would be OK for backpackers but doesn't really make the grade for anything more.
