Never imagined that I would fall in love with this quaint and lovely World Heritage town but I did. Made even more memorable with our wonderful and amazing host Cengiz and gracious wife Fatima. The house in simple and impeccable. Breakfast is devine and we keep looking forward for more. The smell of burning wood from a much used wood oven that also double up as a stove is just mind blowing. Tq so much Cengiz & Fatima. We will never forget U and we will most certainly be back

This place was a real surprise and treasure to find. While I was just mesmerized by the way the Ottoman houses were and the 600 yr old cobbled streets where horse carriages used to pass, my little explorers were just as excited to go back in history....
This wonderful konak, owned my Mr. Cengis and his sweet wife is a heritage home with 3 levels. Upstairs we had the rooms and the Greatest Surprise was the Closet that turned out to be a hidden Bathroom !!! Wow what an amazing concept and feature - when I was told of the reasons why, i had even more respect for the local culture and tradition. Well, that surprise aside, the home was clean, adequate, the linen was hotel standard and hospitality befitting.
Downstairs one finds another mystery unfolding - the spacious stable has been turned into a breakfast area and while we were busy having fresh fruit, local corn and  the works, my little angels were busy exploring the backyard, running with the chickens, searching for eggs and dancing around a fountain ( i was told that it was a feature in each Ottoman Heritage homes ).There were freshly picked walnuts that Mr. Cengis offered us and the kids were delighted.
This beautiful property sits quietly hidden right in the middle of town and walking around this little town is a pleasure in itself.
As we walked a couple of streets down, we found the mosque and a functional 600 year old Hammam that I was told was famous.
A little further down, passing a stream where an old tannnery lay, I found a shop selling  hand made copperworks - where I bought 2 most beautifully colored trays and other lovely items at such a nominal price.
Then we went to a hilltop park overlooking the city and a little further down another gem awaited us - while standing on a tip o fa ravine we saw a canyon with a river beside it and there was an elevator access to it if anyone wanted to go down to the cafe.
Before leaving the kids and I went abseiling/flying fox between a canyon.
Mr. Cengis also recomended a local shop that sold traditional Turkish soup that continues a recipe a few hundred years old.
Besides that, a few streets down from this amazing Heritage home, we had a nice meal at a local restaraunt selling meat filled pasta.
Overall Tabag Ahmet Bey house is a Gem that sparkles in all of Safranbolu.
No wonder Safranbolu is a UNESCO World heritage site.
It not only holds trasures of the past but People who work hard to try to let us experience and taste the great Ottoman legacy.
A big Kudos to Mr. Cengis and his beautiful family.

Great Place to satay. Beautiful Konak, great hospitality, great location .  Lets make it short my wife , my son and I just loved . If you have kids they will love to watch chickens playing outside in the garden.Highly recommended ...

I feel privileged to have stayed at this Ottoman era house which is owned by Mr Cengiz who is a wonderful host. On arrival we were treated Turkish coffee and met other guests in the dining area. Mr Cegniz had collected us from the intercity bus terminal which is a few kms from Modern Safranbola. The UNESCO listed Safranbola old town is a few kms from modern town. Old town starts when the smooth bitumen ends and you hit cobblestones. It is an exceptional experience to stay in a very large, clean comfortable Ottoman era house. The rooms are large and comfortable with excellent views looking over the town. Built on a steep slope the house has steep stairs. In the evenings guests are treated to endless cups of Turkish tea together with baklava, Turkish delight, fresh local peaches and great conversation from the host and other guests. Highly recommended.

First of all, this place is impossible to find. On arrival at Safranbolu old town the delightful host, Cengiz, will come and meet you and direct you to the house. The antiquated house is an absolute  treasure. It's old, authentic, and the perfect place to stay in Safranbolu if you want a glimpse of living the Ottoman life complete with the cupboard bathroom.  Rooms are a generous size,  clean and welcoming.    Breakfast is served in the salon at the time of your choice.  A few stairs to negotiate so if stairs were a problem regarding mobility, this is not the place to stay.  The owners host a cup of tea and a chat in the evening prior to retiring. The streets are narrow with cobblestones. Definitely recommend this place and would stay there again. 

it was my second time in Safranbolu together with my family this time. When we arrived at this very old house I was surprised it was still origin and in good position because its a 100 years old house. the owner told us about the history of the house and were very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast was very good and the price for a night was nothing for what you will get there. I will recommend this house for everybody. The location is great in the middle of the old city center. This hotel works with booking.com for a short period and at the moment not so active and therefore there a no reviews about this house. Consequently, I felt to inform all other people about this beautiful
old house..
