Grand Sinan Hotel

We loved staying in this hotel. It's right in the city centre and has a wonderful rooftop restaurant from which you can look down at the streets and around to the hills. The staff were friendly and very helpful and spoke enough English (communication can be a big problem in Turkey). They were attentive and flexible. One of us had an air-conditioning failure during the night (it was August and very hot), and the staff came and changed his room for him then and there, in the middle of the night. The rooms are modern, clean, and well-equipped with a fridge and plenty of storage space. Being in the city centre it was noisy, especially as we were there at festival time, but I use ear plugs anyway. However, although the curtains were thick, they only covered part of the windows, so the light from outside was a problem. I did mention this when I left, and wouldn't be surprised if they have fixed this, and I'm sure that if I'd asked they would have come up with some solution while I was there. The rooftop terrace was such a pleasant place. There was a huge breakfast spread, and tea and beer were available any time. All in all it was the perfect choice for our week in Malatya. We felt really at home and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming.
