I don't understand why this hotel doesn't have better reviews.  I found it to be quite nice and a great value for the price that I paid.  

The location is great.  It is one block from the Mevlana Museum and nearby lots of shopping and restaurants.

The staff were friendly and the main guy at reception spoke excellent English (but not the rest of them).

The room was nice with stylish decor and very clean.  The bed was fairly comfy but the pillows were a bit lumpy.  The bathroom was great with hot water and even a shower curtain (which I'm not used to with budget hotels).  There was a little desk, fridge, and flat screen TV.  They upgraded me to a larger room for free, so perhaps I got one of the better rooms?

Overall I enjoyed my stay at Deluxe Hotel and feel it is a good budget option for staying in the center of Konya.

Good value in perfect location.

We stayed in Room 102.  The room and bathroom were cramped but clean and fully functional.  Wifi didn't work anywhere and the power cut out at about 11pm.  The breakfast buffet is a self-service Turkish breakfast, not a cornflakes-to-congee affair.  To get here from the bus station we took a tram to Alaadeen and then walked 600m down the main street.  To get back, the helpful staff stopped a minivan for us.

Handy location, clean... no Wi-fi

The hotel is at an unbeatable location (so are others in the same street) right next to the Mevlana museum so you can walk over quickly early morning and evenings in the square and there are good price doner restaurants around. Rooms are small but clean and quiet. Breakfast is standard Turkish fare, nothing extra ordinary. But reasonable for the price you pay. Be aware not to discuss too much about religion with the owner, who though speaks good English, is a very conservative guy - going to the extreme of asking you to convert to Islam - which even as a joke is not funny for some people. But this could be true for many hotels in Konya because it is a very conservative city - which is ironic because of this being the resting place of great Sufi moderate philosopher - The Mevalana or Rumi - who welcomed people of all religions with open arms.

Decent hotel for the price and location

You got what you paid for. Room price is cheap ($30). Room and bathroom is very small and its facilities are very limited. Breakfast is poor or limited. Hotel staff does not speak English even though the owner speaks English well. Its location is good. Room price is very reasonable.  If you stay only one night, this hotel might be a reasonable choice. If you stay more than one night, I do not recommend it for you.

OK stay

We paid a pretty low price for this room and only stayed one night - had we booked longer or paid any more we would have left immediately. 

The room was acceptable (just) for the price, had great air conditioning thankfully. There was a small table, and small mirror in our room, with 3 beds and 3 slimy feeling rubber slipper things. 

The (maybe) manager greeted us later and told us the other man didn't speak English, so he helped us with organising a shuttle or taxi to the airport and giving us suggestions for dinner. 

First downside was that wifi stopped working on our floor and the floor below us after about 10 minutes of being there, so we had to go down to the lobby whenever we needed Internet. 

Secondly the bathroom was atrocious, it wasn't finished, was disgustingly dirty, had holes in the wall and ceiling stuffed with what looked like a plastic bag of rubbish, and stank worse than anything I've smelt in Turkey. 

It was completely unusuable, the shower head had a prop on the wall but then it just sprayed throughout the entire bathroom and leaked all over the floor into the room. There was no actual shower to speak of and no shower curtain. 

Toilet broke on the first day, sink and soap holders look like they've never been cleaned, ever. 

Third was the breakfast, which was also fairly awful. It was the standard Turkish continental but hard boiled eggs were old and rubbery, tomatoes were shrivelled and look like they had been cut and sitting there a month, bread was stale, no coffee offered. All in all it was also pretty abysmal. 

You couldn't pay me to go back.
