Lovely hotel. They did a great job preserving the historic character of the houses but ensuring everything is modern and comfortable. Staff were so friendly and the food was good!

An authentic place to stay with pleasure. Comfortable rooms, attentive and understanding staff and above all, the sincere approach of the mistress of the hotel.

This hotel is really amazing. Very beautiful rooms at old house with nice use of historic elements. The public rooms at every floor are also very well decorated. The price for stay was really good comparing with setting. I got a free parking place in front of the house. Not sure how they organize parking if it's busy. The restaurant has a license so it could be noisy until midnight if you have window to the garden area. It was easy walk to old town. Castle is just next to hotel and has best views at the evening. So it's good idea to drive up before arrival.

I stayed at Ugurlu Konaklari in 2019 for the first time and enjoyed my stay. This time, I have chosen the same hotel remembering my previous pleasant stay. In the mean time The hotel was expanded with two additional buildings in the same traditional style. The staff was welcoming and polite and helpful. The food was very good.

It is a difficult mission to run a 170 years old mansion preserving the originality and adding comfort to it. Ugurlu Konaklari accomplished this very well to my opinion.  I have stayed there twice and both my rooms were beautiful and very comfortable. Food is very good, they serve local and continental dishes as well as Aegean metzes. Staff is polite and  warm.  Area is quiet,  just under the beautiful  castle from 12th century.  Rooms overlooking the street would have a full view of the well lit castle at nights.

We enjoyed the quietness of Uğurlu Konakları as well as its proximity to the Castle and to the center of the City. The rooms are very comfortable and nicely decorated. The Kastamonu origin local food is very tasty and so are the "meze" (the starters that would go well with Turkish raki or wine, etc. The premises has a nice garden perfect for warm summer evenings and of course a number of indoor areas for cold winter days and nights. The owner Gülsen hanim is an ex tourist guide and therefore understands and communicates well with foreigners.

My family and I stayed at Ugurlu Konaklari in October of 2019.  The charm of the exquisitely restored 170+ year old mansion, welcoming staff, and warm atmosphere made us fall in love with this boutique hotel.  The restaurant serves delicious local cuisine.  Excellent place to stay when in or around Kastamonu.  We will be back.

My husband and I stayed here during our trip across Turkey and we'd highly recommend it. It's a beautiful house straight out of the National Trust (for any UK readers!). The hosts are welcoming and tried their very best to make us feel welcome despite them speaking very little English and us speaking absolutely zero Turkish!

Dinner was wonderful and plentiful, our room was quiet and comfortable and we'd recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kastamonu.

Beautiful peaceful hotel within walking distance to the center and right next to the castle. Our room was traditional, large and very comfortable. The evening meal we had was all local dishes ,  which we found very different and tasty.  All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

We (unfortunately) only stayed one night at this wonderfully restored old house. The location is a bit off the town center but quiet and within walking distance to all sights. From the garden, there is a wonderful view of the castle. The rooms are spacious and clean, the staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful. Highly recommended!
