Not a good place to stay. Decent location and price I guess but without AC and constant cigarette smoke I would never stay here again. Front desk was nice enough but they had no solution for us having a very warm room. Do not stay here.

Great locTion. Easy to find.pleasent staff nice view.fair price.   Hallways need carpet cleaned but room spotless. Staff friendly and helpful.  Not fancy but clean great wifi and good dinner. Just enjoy this perfect location.

Perfect location good food

Of all the places I've slept in Turkey, this is the one I remember most pleasantly. Excellent cleaning and service. In the hall is always someone who can speak (and converse pleasantly) in English.

A corner of tranquility in the chaos of the Smyrna Bazaar

I just returned from a trip to Izmir, on which I stayed in Konak Saray. The personel was very friendly and extremely helpful. I found the rooms in a very tidy and comfortable state and enjoyed the Turkish breakfast very much.

It is conveniently located near the Metro station Cantaya, which made it easy for me to get around.
Also the Agora and Izmirs bazar ist very close to the hotel.

I can recommend it for a trip to Izmır :)

In the heart of the city

The Konak Saray Hotel in the Anfartalar caddesi is described here. It is only a few minutes walk from Basmane railway station. The reception, service and staff are all very polite, helpful and friendly. English is spoken. Our room was small but completely adequate, clean in all areas and quietly located. The breakfast on the upper floor is very rich in Turkish customs with tea, olives, cheeses, sausages, yogurt, tomatoes, cucumbers, many kinds of bread, many dishes, etc. The hotel has been noticeably restored in recent times and offers basic service, active and mobile travellers need a good price in the immediate surroundings.

Very decent hotel in the middle of Izmir

Not good

This is the sister hotel to the more recently acquired Agora Konak Saray Hotel. First impressions on a very hot day in Izmir were unfavorable as the taxi driver negotiated tight turns, donkey carts, and local markets to reach the hotel on a crowded narrow street. The first night was unpleasant due to noise from outside. These concerns were shared with the hotel staff and immediately a change was made to a lovely room on the third floor. A spacious room with excellent AC, a desk for Internet writing, and close to the restaurant. The bathroom and general layout was fine for me as a solo traveler. The manager Nadir and staff Turgay and Kubilay were excellent after the first night's concern. English is spoken by several of the staff including Nadir and Turgay. The small reception area is balanced by the large, efficient, economical, and delicious restaurant on the third floor with chef Murat. I stayed several extra days due to the kindness and helpfulness of the staff. Side trips to Cesme and ferry stops in the bay of Izmir were lots of fun.

Konak Saray Hotel (not Agora)

The hotel broke my first page of my passport when I checked in. The receptionist apologized, but no discounts or anything else were applied despite my requests. At the customs, on the way back, the German police caused me some trouble, but since I was going back, they let me go back to European territory. After a month I came back and after 4 emails asking for a refund for the passport repair, the hotel never answered me! This is embarrassing: now I have to pay about 100 euros to return the passport for a hotel embarrassment.
