A very nice, friendly, well-priced budget hotel. Staff is very friendly, good breakfast, clean/spacious rooms, well-located. Not for sophisticated travelers, though!

Very close to Basmane station. Clean rooms, wide rooms and bathrooms, very clean bathroom, comfortable furniture and very polite helpful staff.
The breakfast is delivious with frish and enough products. All the day free of charge turkish tea.

Merkez Hotel Izmir is a great hotel to stay in Izmir. It is within short walking distance (15 min max) to Konak Square and Sea Front where you can have wonderful time relaxing. There are numerous options to shop and dine (breakfast to late night dinner). Merkez Hotel Izmir is a nice and clean hotel. I initially booked for 1 night, thinking I may like to stay elsewhere for my remaining 3 nights in Izmir. However, upon my first night stay at the hotel and checking the surroundings, I immediately decided to extend my stay at Merkez Hotel. Staff are great and helpful. You can enjoy tea and coffee all day at the hotel. Breakfast is simple and clean. Various transport facilities are within short walking distance. I highly recommend Merkez Hotel Izmir.

Only language problem rest was perfect. Very less people in this area know English.

They didn’t speak English at the property but we used translator to communicate. They were very pleasant and warm welcoming. It almost felt like you were staying at a home and not a hotel. Breakfast was great and there is Turrkish tea available at all times. If you are looking for an authentic stay with a great hotel staff stay here. Everything is within walking distance.

The reception is very good, very clean room. The staff was kind and very helpful. I would like something more in breakfast as jus or salad.You have to precise that you can take coffee and thee whenever you want in the bar 24/24.

Wonderful staff who were so friendly and hospitable. Manager was a retired technical teacher, who spoke a little English, used Google translate to communicate. He advised me to buy coach tickets at the local company office, to get a free shuttle to the coach station. Met Ibrahim, who works nights. Such a nice guy, he gave me some vegetables from his garden. Thank you! The hotel is located close to Basmane train station, great for taking the first train in the morning to Selçuk. Free tea throughout the day and adequate breakfast. Room was clean and spacious. Staff so warm and friendly.Exceptional value for money. Thank you for a such a pleasant stay.

Very serviceminded staff, but very limited English. Clean room!  Okay breakfast with bread, butter, jam, vegetables and cheese. Nescafe, water and tea available in the lobby day and night. Hard bed!!! We had a balcony but no furniture to take out there. Rough neighbourhood near Basmane station. A supermarket and restarants just outside. Walkimg distance to city centre.

Excellent service, friendly staff. Bedclothes and towels smelled and felt very clean. Mattress was a little soft for my liking, but that’s just personal preference. Manager was happy for me to leave bag and collect it later. Breakfast was good and served from 7 am.  Unlimited tea and coffee available throughout the day. Hotel in very good location near train station and near ticket offices for bus companies which give transfers to the bus station. Is also on Metro line.

Great for a city break

The hotel's staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Free simple Turkish breakfast included. Free tea and coffee - any time. The place is as clean as it's possible with regard to the price label. The hotel is located conveniently right opposite the railway station Basmane Gar. It's super easy to go to Ephesus from there. The city center is walking distance away.

It is in a great location next to the Basmane train and Metro station and a masjid. There are a million places to eat mere footsteps away. There are also countless ATM machines nearby if you need to get local T liras. The gentleman at the reception is very friendly and helpful. On my first night there he apologized that he did not have a room for me. He helped me get a room at a nearby hotel which is cheaper but not as nice as the Merkez. He did let me have a room for my second and third night there. There is no elevator there and my room was on the third floor so I get to work off the kabobs and baklava while going up and down the stairs. I paid only sixteen bucks a night for a single occupancy room which is a great deal for a clean and comfortable room. The hot water and heater works well (it is still winter here) They will do your laundry for you. I gave them a pair of pants and four shirts in the morning and they were returned all clean and folded in the afternoon for 15 Tlira which is a little bit more than a dollar. That is cheaper than buying laundry soap :-) I will definitely stay here again the next time I am in Izmir insha Allah

Booked few nights and was a lovely stay , restaurants bar train/ metro shoppings ecc all a few mins walk . The staff so welcoming and friendly. My room at the first floor was clean very confy bed and I nice little balcony where u can see a very multicultural scenario,quick check in and out Wi-Fi very good .coffe/tea free of charge, breakfast was ok ( a plate with few black and green olives tomatoes cucumber few slices of cheeses bread, with butter and honey/ jam , egg )coffee and tea .but now I have to say something really unpleasant about this hotel!  yes ,something that really makes me angry are the negative comments from some ppl !! FFS if I book a hotel room that cost me a night ( including a breakfast and a private bathroom) lless than a fatty plastic pizza from D0m1n0 so what should I expect !!!

VERY GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY

This is a budget hotel and very good value for central Izmir. It is with easy reach of the train station, in a busy area but with good transport connections, metro, etc. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was basic but all cleanliness and Covid guidelines were followed. The rooms are a little dated but clean bedding, towels and hot water. Great value.

I like this hotel very much because in this hotel I felt as I'm at home with my family , Mr. Cemal and Mr. Nedim both are very generous people they treat the guest as a friend or more, I stayed in Ramadan for three nights they used to wake me up for suhur, Mr. Nedim cooked very nice iftar for me and all the fasting guests, I just felt the smell of the house in this hotel the cleanliness, the treatment all can make you come back again and again, for sure I well be back again whenever I can.
