La Bien Alacati - Adults Only

Staff was nice and breakfast was great. Room had issues no hot water in the am and the hot tub leaked. The location is fine as it is far enough away to avoid the noise at night

We booked the "suite" which was large and comfortable.  The hotel is more of a large house converted into rooms and suites.  It is located maybe 10 mins walk from the lanes so is very quiet and relaxing.  Breakfast was good too and plentiful.  The staff were exceptionally friendly - always had a smile and helpful - relative to other places in Turkey we had been. Apparently, they are new management so are keen to give the place a good rep.

Comfortable quiet hotel

I feel compelled to write  this  review and share a very  bad experience we had with my cousin this  summer.  My cousin  actually  wrote a review in Turkish  but as not everyone  who wants to visit  this hotel understands  Turkish  , I will write  one in English which is also of course my personal  experience as well.
My cousin  called up La Bien  hotel a couple of weeks before we planned  to go to Alacati/Cesme  and booked us a room.  She paid a deposit and as far as we were concerned our holiday was all arranged.   Then  a day before  we were  due to go to  Alacati,  Timur,  the owner, called her and told  her that  unfortunately  they had forgotten  to block the room on booking.com and as it was still available  someone else had booked  it. He apologized  for the mistake  and offered to book us in to a trusted hotel next door  and pay  for the first  night  as a way of saying  sorry.  He was  very  sincere  in his  apology and keen to make it up to us so we didn't  cause any fuss.  On our second day  in Alacati  we got a call  from La Bien  hotel asking us to pop over and so we did. We  met Timur and his parents ( family  run hotel )  and they were being over  friendly which  seemed a bit fake though  we didn't take any  notice  of it at the time.  At the end of our holiday   , during checkout at the hotel we were staying at we realized  the first  night  hasn't  been covered  by La Bien as promised and the lady at reception  said she hasn't  been informed  of such  an arrangement. So my cousin called Timur 's mobile  number  but his father  picked  up and accused my cousin of being a moocher ( couldn't really think of a word in English that describes the Turkish word he used) - basically trying to get things for free. He was extremely rude to her and very condescending too.  My cousin said she hadn't asked for ' a night for free' but that Tumir has offered it as a way of saying sorry and that it was a matter of principle that he stood by his word. My cousin kept asking to talk to Timur  but the father said he wasn't available. Then as the conversation wasn't getting anywhere we decided to go to La Bien as it was literally next door anyway. My cousin rushed ahead and just when I got there she was being pushed out of the door of La Bien. Tumir's father was waiting at the door and the minute she walked in he  had held her by the wrists and shouted at her to get out. She was literally shaking - both scared and fuming. I told her lets go back in and confront him. When we got back in we asked to see his son (who my cousin had been in contact from the start) but they kept saying he wasn't around- probably more like hiding upstairs! The father had a terrible manner and kept telling  us we could do nothing about it and that that we were in his part of the woods - again very patronizing! In the end we just had to pay and leave as we weren't getting anywhere and we had a plane to catch. For us it was a matter of principle. It wasn't a great deal of money but it was how they handled the situation that was so wrong especially in the tourism industry where customer service is paramount. I have honestly never encountered anything like this before and hopefully I will never have to again. It's a real shame as the hotel was nice enough but if the people that run it are like this then I doubt it will get anywhere!!!
