The recent renovation (Summer 2011) and fun, enthusiastic staff combine to make this hotel a great place to stay. A 1 minute stroll to the harbour and main promenade, Canukalle still has a vintage and authentically Turkish feel to it. The hotel itself has been done to a good quality finish with lovely marble floors throughout and a clean, modern and confortable finish to the rooms. All mod cons included and they don't overcharge for drinks or food. The staff are friendly and service minded. I saw some of the other hotels which looked tired so all in all, I would highly recommend staying here. 

I arrived at the Cetinkaya without reservation simply based on the reviews and location. Since it was a few weeks after the Gallipoli centenary, I figured it’d be fine and it was very quiet. I was quoted 70 TL bed and breakfast per night in twin room 405 which is absolutely fine since the lira is so weak nowadays, and opted for a two-night stay. Otherwise, it's a little pricey. The room wasn’t big but just about the right size with a nice little balcony facing a side street and a glimpse of the harbour. Perfect stay at the perfect price. It was comfortable, wifi was pretty decent and the air-con worked fine. 

The hotel is also very, very handy for everything from ATMs, shops, food, the ferry, the promenade, travel agencies, public transport - all within a five-minute walk.

Staff speak a bit of English. There’s an elevator and breakfast is on the top-floor with a good mixture of hot and cold dishes plus cereal and cheese. 

Credit cards accepted but prefer cash. 12pm check-out.

Perfect central location in Canakkale.
On street parking or the front desk will park your car for you if you have any problems.
Breakfast is on the covered rooftop terrace giving good views.
Food was good and the rooms although a bit on the small side did have lots of character. The staff were friendly and helpful. The ferries to the Gallipoli penisular were just a 5 minute walk.

Perfect location and a perfectly fine choice for Çannakale

Perfect Central Location

Clean, modern, friendly. Best hotel in class, probably the best hotel in Canakkale.

The Cetinkaya Hotel has a superb location, right in the centre of the town, near the port and ferry terminal. However, it's the location that makes it so noisy. My room was 101 (shades of George Orwell!) and the rooms 101 & 102, and the others on four floors on that side of the building, looked out over a bustling side street, where there was a kebab restaurant and several cafes. The customers and staff made noise throughout the night, crashing about, chopping vegetables very loudly, shouting, playing loud music (at 4am!) that it was impossible to sleep. The rubbish collectors came some time around 5am and crashed about. Life in the street started at 5.30am and from then on there was constant noise all day. I stayed four nights and barely slept. The room was tiny - the double bed occupied the entire room! The bathroom was basic but clean, and the towels were a bit damp. The breakfast on the fifth floor was really excellent with great scrambled eggs, cereal, bread, fresh vegetables, cheese and tea. The staff at reception tried really hard to be helpful, although some only spoke Turkish. There was no kettle in my room (I really like to have a hot herbal tea before going to bed) however, the receptionist gave me hot water in a mug. The staff are charming and helpful.
