Everyone was very friendly, breakfast was very good.

Great staff! Very helpful and accommodating! Rooms can use some updating, no wifi was available but the location is awesome and owner was a gentleman in every way!

This was one of the worst places we have recently stayed at. The images on Expedia for this property do not reflect reality. When we first arrived we were told that our room did not have a sea view even though my wife had actually paid extra for this. So we were charged an additional TL200 for a room with a view. The room was so small that once we put our suitcases down we could hardly turn around. On Expedia, there were some inviting nice pictures of this property but they were far from reality. It says that they have a pool but it is filled with filthy water and the small pool adjacent to the big one had a snake in the filthy water. This hotel does not have a beach even though it is on the waterfront. Where the sea meets the property there is a wall approximately 6 feet high! Since it was a fairly cool and windy day when we stayed here my son wanted to swim in the pool but again it was not usable. No 82-inch TV, room safe not working, limited dining. Included breakfast does not include drinks for children unless they drink water, coffee or tea. We were charged for a fruit drink! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone at all.

I would like to go to Cunda island in our long religious holiday 2016 july. However I was late to book a hotel and I could not stay everywhere due to I was traveling with my 90 years old aunt. Friend of mine suggested to go to cunda Basel hotel but one of my other friend told me that this hotel is quite old and  that side of the island often gets the wind. Gave them a call and after  a pleasant conversation I decided to go there .I was advised that there is an elevator and when I am at the beach my aunt can spent time under the trees by the beach as well.when we arrived we noticed that yes the hotel was not new but renevated as much as possible. Apart from the small details for instance when I went to bed I was looking for the switch to turn the light off but there was none.. I had to get up to turn the light off😊. To make the story short there was only this kind of minor details as a negative part and all these negative details washed out with Tokatlı family's kind touch on our holiday. Tokatlı family members and every single staff made us to feel that we were guest like in their home not in the hotel. Everything was clean , food was nice but the  most important thing was Tokatlı family members and each of staff was extremely friendly  &  helpful . To sum up  me and my aunt both we were happy to be there and we had a peaceful , relaxing holiday with the kind touch of Tokatlı family ❤

Feeling like at home

During my recent trip to Turkey, this was by far the most caring staff and management. Granted that it is only 3 star, but the beach is nice, the service excellent, and you get everything that you pay for. There are so-called 5-star hotels in the region that could learn from this. I recommend it if  you are willing to compromise on your expectations. Note that you will be one of the only english speaking guests.

Great mid-budget hotel

We stayed at this hotel for only 1 night although we originally had booked for 2. The room had an amazing view overlooking the water and we would've liked to sleep with our balcony door open, if it weren't for the stench of the cigarette smoke coming in from the guest in the next room. To add to this the walls are paper thin, so unfortunately we were not able to sleep that well as the same guest either had his tv on loud or he was talking loud on his phone all night. We tried to get moved to another room, however the hotel staff who spoke poor english told us the hotel was fully booked, funny that because when we arrived we seemed to be one of the only guests and at breakfast, we could only see 3 other people!

Great Views but that's it!

Family owned 3 star hotel with extremely friendly staff. There is no luxury or glamour in this hotel but it has everything you need to relax and some spend quality time with your family.

The Owner or his wife will come and greet you in the mornings to ask if everything is OK.
 
The parking and internet are free of charge, breakfast is great, the music played in the lounge and guest portfolio of the hotel are just "right". 

It is within walking a distance from Cunda village. But I would rather book the dinner at the hotel instead of spending a fortune on Cunda's restaurants.

Good hotel ran by good people

We stayed at the Cunda Basel Hotel for 4 days in July, and would definitely stay there again. Good value for your money. It’s a small family-run hotel featuring clean and spacious rooms, complete with air-conditioning that works (and screens on the windows in case you don’t want the AC), a well-maintained grassy garden, where you can either sun or sit in the shade of a tree, and very clean sea.  Most people get into the sea from the pier, but for those who like to walk into the water gradually, they have a special ‘carpet’ leading from the shoreline into the sea. A nice touch, because the shore is not a sandy one. The pool was very clean and looked inviting, but we focused on the sea. The atmosphere is relaxed and quiet, no loud music or inane ‘animation’. In the afternoon the simit seller comes around, sometimes offering as well the tastiest local kurabiye you can imagine.

The staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly, and the food very good. We stayed just bed-and-breakfast, but there was the option to enjoy a lovely open buffet in the evening, which we did a couple of times, for 25TL, about 11 Euro at the current rate of exchange. For dinner, tables are set up in the garden overlooking the sea, and for those who prefer indoors, there is plenty of space (with the same sea view) in the dining room. 

Parking was not a problem at the hotel, but it might have been in the town center, which is a 12- to 15-minute walk at most. Otherwise, you can call a taxi and pay 10TL, without the meter. One evening we caught the city bus which passes by the hotel just as it was leaving the center—2TL per person. 

We definitely recommend this hotel and would happily go there again.
