Gule Cunda

My partner and I visited Gule Hotel in the off-season and instantly fell in love with its charm, location, and Şehnaz’s warm welcome. We chose to visit the hotel before booking, and once we saw how peaceful and lovely it was, we immediately brought up my celiac disease. Şehnaz wasn’t a celiac expert but she took it incredibly seriously. She asked thoughtful questions, wanted to understand everything, and made me feel completely safe. By the next morning, she had created a beautiful breakfast setup. My food was clearly separated from my partner’s, down to the smallest details. Nuts were on the side. Cheeses, fruits, and eggs were portioned just for me and prepared in separate pots. She even asked me where to get gluten-free bread and although I had brought my own, she went out of her way to offer me foil so it wouldn’t touch the toaster. There was zero risk of cross-contamination and total peace of mind. Each morning, she explained what was on the table, where it came from, and what it was made of. Everything was fresh, natural, and delicious—cheeses, jams, honey, fruit, eggs—exactly how I love to eat: simple, healthy, and real. The hotel is peaceful, cozy, and very well located. The room had a fridge where I safely stored my gluten-free bread. On top of it all, Şehnaz also makes her own olive oil and handmade liquid soap, both of which I bought and highly recommend as take-home treasures. They reflect the same care and love she puts into her hosting. To anyone with celiac: you’ll feel safe, seen, and well cared for here. Just like anywhere, always ask your questions and explain your needs, but rest assured Şehnaz listens. And she truly cares. Celiac traveler savoring local, gluten-free dishes.
