This review is for the restaurant.
The meal was ok, but not special. The staff was friendly but the service was poor for the price.
Not the best ratio price to quality.
The decor is beautiful, therefore, you go there mostly for the ambiance but not for a culinary treat.

Very comfortable and well furnished rooms. Perfect location in the Medina, close to places of interest. Attractive architecture. Very well kept gardens and lovely swimming pool. The food is good but you may try also restaurants close by.

One of the best Dars in Tunisia

This is the prettiest oasis I could ever find in Tozeur! My words could barely describe how lovely and dreamy this dar is. It has 2 amazing courtyards with 2 gorgeous swimming pools, a lovely restaurant where you can find the most delicious mlewi with harissa and veggie couscous! I had the dreamiest suite with a view of the Medina and the bed was extra big and comfortable! Not to mention the service which is more than amazing here! I felt like an arab princess and lived my own arabic fairytale at this hidden gem in the heart of Tozeur Medina!

A beautiful, dreamy dar in the heart of Tozeur Medina. This place has 2 amazing courtyards with 2 swimming pools, restaurant and lovely views of the pools or the Medina. The food is delicious and the service is more than amazing. Find your peace in town hidden just behind a wooden door.

This is such a beautifully designed and luxurious hotel that it seems churlish not to give it five stars although the rather modest breakfast detracts from the overall experience. Also the service is a bit thin on the ground at times although we ended up being very well looked after by one particular member of staff. There are only 7 rooms but an almost endless selection of sitting out areas and three beautifully furnished dining rooms, one with sofas and a cozy log fire that came in handy during our stay. Great location in the old town as well. Highly recommended though not for the breakfast!

Luxurious boutique hotel in the old town

The building is beautiful but that is all. As you pay for a luxury staying you really notice that there is nothing else typical of hotels of that price range. Apart from nice decor, breakfast was very poor, almost no toiletries if you discount the bottle of cheap supermarket shower shampoo... Hammam was off and even if booked there was no time to warm it up. The big pool was empty. There is no access by car. It's all OK but we only found out upon arrival and contrary to similar hotels in Old cities they had no garage, we had to leave the car in a street where they were having a festival. Heads up would have been nice.

Beautiful place poor service

Dar Tozeur is the perfect place to stay if you are planning a visit to Tozeur or the area around the salt desert Jarid -  both as an oasis for relaxation or as a base for day trips. Having selected an off season period in early February for the four nights we spent in Tozeur, we were very well taken care of by Mr. Habib and his staff of ten people who usually take care of the guests. During our visit, we had the place for our selves the first night and at most three of the rooms were occupied on one of the nights.

Mr. Habib and his team was very helpful to assist in arranging airport pick-up, guided tours, 4x4 excursions, food on demand and also a water pipe, which was ordered and deliverd from a local cafe and brought to the hotel.

Set in a newly constructed villa on a 2000 sqm of land in the middle of the ancient Medina of Tozeur the seven guest suites and common areas are very tastefully decorated with furniture from different parts of the world with a strong moric flavour from the Maghreb region. 

Every detail has been carefully thought through and the result is fantastic. The small courtyard with a pool set in the middle between the main building with the common living room on the ground floor and the breakfast area on the second floor with large windows both offer great views of the large pool and garden area behind the building. Guestrooms are spread out across the different buildings.

We decided to have most of our meals at Dar Tozeur, whoch proved to be an outstanding idea. There is no set menu, however the chef suggests and prepares according to wants and wishes. You can also request to have a table set in the garden, in the dining room, in your room or anywhere else. Service is outstanding, considerate and helpful - all with a smile.

We also used the hammam and had a massage, all very good and satisfactory. There is also a cinema with a large screen and comfortable armchairs. We didm’t spend much time in the cinema, but much more time infront of the fireplace in the living room.

All in all the stay at Dar Tozeur was beyond expectations. The site is fantastic and offers a perfect place for relaxation to recharge your batteries while also being close to the main attractions of the region.


Oasis for relaxation

This place is hard to find in the old town as there is no sign outside. Entering the place you find yourself in an oasis. It is well decorated and very peaceful. Staff is helpful. They dont speak english well so we had some few misunderstandings. The food is very good and they have a selection of vine and beer. Maybe not a place to visit if you have small active children, but for grownups I highly recommend it.

A hidden treasure.

The atmosphere is incredible. You feel like in a dream palace. Everything is here to make you feel relax, from the 2 swimming pools to the spa! The rooms are really well decorated. The chef I schooling an excellent food and your table will be set anywhere you want in the palace. And that's the good thing about it, this place is filled with many romantic spaces for having a lunch or a nice candle light dinner. A truly breathtaking experience in the middle of the desert! A must do in Tozeur without any hesitation!

Dream house, a must do in Tozeur!

The place is so nice and well. The decoration is great, the rooms are so big and nice. There are 2 swimming pool, 1 spa, a patio. When arriving, you get an orange juice and some dattes. 
Nice breakfast. The only problem is to be awake at 5.45 every morning because of the call from the muslim.
