Carolyn's View

Arouca

I arrived after dark and was pleased to find the arranged transfer waiting at the airport. My greeting on arrival was friendly and efficient with the necessary formalities dealt with in a pleasant manner. I then slept the best I had in six weeks. The secret? The bed comes with a cover that can be used when the air con becomes too fierce instead of contractually turning it on and off. There are facilities nearby although a walk into PoS is possible if you feel in need of exercise. There are also buses doing the journey. The room is comfortable with all facilities functioning and this with the genuine hospitality of the owners made for a comfortable few days

Best Night's Sleep

We arrived late afternoon on 01/12/19. Ms. Carolyn had our transportation waiting for us at the airport, which we are thankful for.
The room was spacious, clean with a mini fridge, tv and AC. The bed is extremely comfortable with the softest sheets. (We want to buy some of these sheets for our home. 🙂 We did ask where she buys them.)
The WiFi is strong without any delay in service. We have a wonderful view of mountains. 
It's quiet however, the neighbor has dogs which can be irritating during sleep hours. There is a very steep hill to get to the guest house so, be prepared for it.
We have had nothing but, excellent service and kindness from Ms. Carolyn and her husband. They provide extreme safety with the gated entry so, no one can just walk in and out.
The community kitchen is a decent size and provides a good place to prepare your meals including a microwave.
You do have to pay for transportation if, it is provided.
I would recommend staying here to anyone that visits. 


Pleasant Stay

Calling the owner helped us finding this special place up a steep hill. He came to guide us there. Coming from abroad it was perfect that we could rent a local cel phone. The room was very spacious and the use of the kitchen helped with making breakfast coffee.
Parking was a little tricky on the steep road.

A spacious place, well appointed

We've all been in sterile hotels and resorts. The same rooms, elevators, coffee shops and pools. After a life of business travel - which city am I in now? - I wanted a trip that accentuated the personal, natural flora and fauna, unscheduled time, permission to be me. We found all of that in our guesthouse - Carolyn's View. Carolyn was our oracle. She knew everything we needed to know about where to eat, how to get to the beaches, good walks and Trinidadian culture. Our room was wonderful. Clean, airy and comfy. We had a veranda outside our room. We used it often to bring food back to the guest house and sit with it and wine as the sky grew dark. Ahh, Carolyn's View indeed. Close to the stars and above the lights of Port of Spain. Such a find. We will return there soon. So much more to see, music to hear, foods and beverages to sample.
