When Tanoa Hotel was filled with conferences, they reserved this 2nd floor concrete hotel built in 2015.  Its truely a value by comparison if you can deal with no wifi, no TV and no breakfast.  The rest is all here with a clean tiled room beginning with a sink unit with new refer and new hot pot, across a spacious bathroom with new toilet and  large tiled shower with electric hot water.  Further on is a couch, closet and comfortable queeen, then a sliding door to a balcony overlooking the 1885 Free Church of Tonga.  


Nice value hotel in center city.

The room is spacious, well located, close to restaurants, market and shops. There is a fridge but you cannot cook there. Breakfast is minimal, only coffee, bread, butter, jam, peanut butter. Would love some fruits and juice. We had some problem with the shower (no more water) but staff were really helful, we crossed the street and went to another hotel to have our shower! The church is pretty loud, so as the roasters, but that's the case in all the island. 
Staff is really good, they are very nice and helped us a lot for any of our requests (booking cab, tour, etc). We stayed for 10 days and liked it!

Nice hotel

Not a place to stay if you like hot or warm showers. There was hot water sometimes, but never when I wanted it. Not satisfactory for what they are charing. It was good to have a fridge in the room, and a jug for heating water, but there was no way to prepare or even heat foods; not even a microwave

convenient location but quite basic

Very spacious, clean, central and excellent staff.  For the price we paid, I was impressed with the service and the staff was great.  Very flexible with checking out time. Love the location, walking distance to every restaurant

First the pluses. The room is large comfortable-  the staff are friendly. Now the minuses- The shower was week and luke warm- not just in my room but we were party of three and each had same issue. The wifi in rooms was broken- could get only in reception area. The breakfast very basic - serve yourself- there are no real public rooms- no bar or lobby. The hotel is in an office building- not far from sea but not overlooking. I would prefer next time a hotel with sea view and garden at least to relax in.

Hotel with few public facilities

I found the Tungi very conveniently located in the middle of town. The room was very spacious and was well looked after. The shower could benefit from better water pressure and a bit more heat. Breakfast included was minimal and would be great to have some fruits included w it. Of the two nights I stayed there, I only saw staff ONCE! So that could be improved as well.

Great Looking Rooms

Beautiful clean airconditioned accommodation in the heart of town. Close to cafe and easy access to do ministry . Very plain Breakfast but you can go out if you so which instead. Friendly staff at hand well worth a visit when next in Nuku'lofa. 

Ministry accommodation 

It's hard to find a room big enough anywhere in the world to fit 2 adults and 3 children but the Tungi Colonnade is one of those rare hotels.
The hotel is located on Nuku'alofa's Main Street which is perfect however because it's on the second floor of a retail and office building, parking can be tricky to find. The lift is also pretty slow so the walk up the stairs with your luggage is a bit of a pain. 
A Tongan friend had booked the room for me so when a Palangi turned up at reception they looked a little confused. Check in was conducted on Tongan time but the staff were very friendly and likeable.
The room was large, clean and every thing is new and fresh. We had requested an extra bed in the room which had not been supplied on arrival and we were told that it wasn't available however the couch was big enough for my Son to sleep on so we were happy.
Our biggest complaint was the fact that the shower was cold. We advised reception and they came to investigate. After running the water for a few minutes they left satisfied however the water was still cold. Just as well it's the tropics.
Overall we enjoyed our short stay and the price was right so I'd be happy to recommend the Tungi Colonnade Hotel as a short stay option on Tongatapu.
