So..... We booked our room through Agoda. Which we always use and have no problems with. On arrival at reception, the staff had no record at all of our booking. It seemed as though they don't even check their Agoda account as they said people just usually walk in. 

After some debate (they said they where fully booked) they said we could have a room but not the deluxe we booked. It would be a "suite" room, but we would have to pay 1000THB for the trouble. Nae says I, (having a thai wife really helped here). She said absolutely no to paying the upgrade fee and argued our case, after what seemed like some form of management got involved, we where led to our room. I must say, although highly disorganised, the staff where very polite. 

The suite room/hotel, has had it's heyday, quite a few decades ago it would seem.... There is water damage everywhere from leaks, the fridge in the room had been left open and is STILL red hot. The bathroom was dirty with bugs in the bath tub, you would benefit more by standing in the rain than using the shower. There was a blood stain on one of the towels. There was also a massive yellow stain on top of the bed and 3 blood stains on the under sheet. We had these changed obviously. The air-con is older than me, but it does work, albeit loudly. The temperature gauges are stuck in place and cannot be adjusted. There are no room safes and the list goes on. 

This is a very Thai hotel, meaning, a cheap stay for local people. Which, if your a back packer and just want a roof then that's cool. But if your looking for any sort of standards then, avoid this place. The following morning after check in the staff phoned the room stating we had to check out after we explicitly explained we had booked for 3 nights, and the manager even took a copy of our Agoda booking sheet. 

The pool is green. Not chlorine or chemical green. Algae, tike stained green. 

The hotel in general is just in a poor state. Which is a shame given it's location. It's very central. There is a lovely little restaurant on the main road entrance to the hotel on left, and on the right. A 7/11 next to that and a lovely little coffee house across the way. 

This is my third trip to Sukhothai and I can see its up and coming given the growing popularity of the old city. The owners of this place should take heed, while they can, before the masses arrive. 

Just demolish it........ 

The hotel was ok, A/C worked, room ok , clean and a reasonable price.The pool was looking good but it was late so we didn't  use it.
We had a good breakfast in the restaurant opposite and played 2 gamed of snooker.

The staff were ok, it was all a bit OK?

Average hotel

We were lucky to have a very new room (it was a room for 2 adults and 2 children). The beds are really very hard but that didn't stop us from sleeping well.

It's not that bad.

When we arrived the staff was brushing their hair and paused painstakingly to go to the Checkin, so a guy left with our suitcases and we had to ask if the rooms were there because we were being left in the reception... It was already starting badly, but then when we saw the condition of the emergency rooms! Doubtful wet toilet paper! Ah if we can sit on the pets while we are taking a shower there is certainly a practical side to this but I didn't notice it! When we asked for the pool story to comfort ourselves with a small bath and the guy (who had our luggage and who also had a nice price in the box located next door to the hotel) did not allow for lunch! And I did not give him a chance because of hyperglycemia! But we did not have a good time in the same room, and we did not notice it!

It's a good scam.

I was at the hibiscus orchid of sukothai...just outside the center... they're bungalows in the middle of the green with lots of pool... paul is kind and gives you all the details of the case... behind it is also some cages with birds, which with their verses give that wild touch! breakfasts with honey taken directly from the haystack!!! amazing these days to see it so raw and succulent... excellent. the rooms are spainese, but they keep a romantic atmosphere... advice rental bicycle and ride around the surroundings... but so much paul thinks about telling you price in the average

The worst hotel I've ever stayed in, we actually booked 2 nights and stayed only one. It was so short that I didn't even know where to start... 1. They don't speak English, not a sad word, not at the reception or the person in charge, communication is impossible. 2. There is no elevator. 3. In the hotel there were no other guests, ALL the rooms with the doors open on a par, bedrooms unlocked, walls unlocked, etc. 4. We also booked a room on the last floor (he said there was no elevator) that was the best place I'd ever seen in my room. 5. We had a dirty bathroom without a towel, no brown salt, but a grim reception. 6. In the hotel there were no other guests, ALL the rooms with the doors open on a par, rooms unlocked, walls unlocked, etc. 4. We also booked a room on the last floor (he said there was no elevator) that was the worst thing I'd ever seen in my room. 5. We had a dirty bathroom without a towel, no brown salt

The worst is impossible.

I only chose this place as a backup because it had a pool. 
The hotel we wanted to stay, Baan Georges, I could not locate in the small back soi’s.
Well I could locate it I just couldn’t navigate the 12 seater mini bus I was driving through the small lanes.
Anyway back to the Orchid, on arrival first thing I checked was the pool. The pool was important to us because we were travelling with kids and they needed to cool off.
The pool water was a dark green colour so totally unusable.  That should have been enough warning for us but we pressed on.
The staff were pleasant enough. The carpet on the stairs and hallways was worn and filthy. The room we took was large enough, furniture old and worn, typical Thai style old hotel (no maintenance!). I can accept that as long as it is clean.
We took 2 rooms and paid cash and were just settling in when my wife tried turning on the bath. The water was black! It was virtually mud pouring out of the taps!
This occurred in both of the rooms. Reception’s response was just to leave the taps running until it cleared. 10 minutes later the water was still filthy.
The house keeping ladies told us that nobody had stayed in these rooms for a long time, I think we were the only people on the whole floor, it was starting to get spooky!
We’d had enough. I thought we had done our money as we paid cash but after a few phone calls the reception staff gave us a full refund.
 The worst hotel experience since staying in 100 baht a night flop houses.
 Ended up staying at Ruean Thai which was a world apart but still inexpensive.

Hotel Hell!

We arrived in Sukhothai at night and didn't want to spend much time to look around for a hotel. Upon arrival, staff was reasonably friendly, we took a look at the room and as it looked acceptable at first, we decided to stay.
However, it turned out that later at night the pub on the ground floor would play extremely loud live music, the drums hammering away to be clearly felt even on the 3rd floor at the end of the corridor where our room was located! The air-condition was equally noisy, fan rattling and no way to adjust either temperature or fan speed.
The bathroom was acceptably clean, but the ceiling was covered with mold already.
When the pub finally closed early morning, the leaving guests made a lot of noise waking us up again. We skipped the breakfast included in the room price.
I cannot recommend this place to anyone, not even solo travelers - except if you plan to stay in the hotel pub until closing time...

Cheap but unpleasant

Stayed in Sukothai one night (with my Thai fiancee) on our way from Chiang Mai to Bangkok. Room was reasonably priced for the season and was fairly clean. We checked in at about 6:00 and noticed what seemed like a party going on down the hall. I paid no attention to it and figured the hotel would deal with the noise at a reasonable time. Went out for some street food and returned to take a shower and go to bed. The power went out twice while we were taking a shower - fortunately, I travel with a flashlight but it was frightening for my fiancee. We tried to sleep but the noise from down the hall was overwhelming. I waited until 11:00 to call the front desk and they told me the noise would continue until 1:00am! At 1:00am I called again to complain and the band played for another 20 minutes and then shut down. During this time I tried to turn on the AC to drown out the sound but the AC didn't work! The next morning they decided to do some work on another unit so I was awakened at 7:30 to the sound of a hammer pounding away. At 9:00am I received a wake-up call that I didn't ask for. All in all, it was the worst hotel experience I've ever had and I travel frequently.

Very noisy - frequent power outage - no AC

The hotel is located in the heart of the city, close to the beautiful archaeological park, and is very clean and friendly with its owners. Paolo is an Italian who has been living in Thailand for a long time and will also give you many tips on how to get the most out of the area and the culture of the Thai people.
