Horizon Karon Beach Resort & Spa

We recently stayed at Horizon Karon Beach Resort & Spa in Phuket for 7 nights with our family of four (two adults and two kids, aged 12 and 15) in two rooms. We opted for the breakfast package, and overall, our experience was fantastic, with the positives far outweighing the minor negatives. Positives: The hotel’s location in Karon is wonderfully quiet, offering a peaceful retreat from busier areas. The staff were attentive, welcoming, and always ready to assist, making us feel right at home. The free daily shuttle to the Kata night walking markets was a highlight, especially for the kids. The resort’s pools were a standout – clean, spacious, and perfect for family fun, with a great pool bar serving reasonably priced cocktails and beers. The kids loved the room with pool tables, and the gym was decent for a quick workout. Security was never a concern, and the proximity to Karon Beach was a plus, though the beach was closed during our stay due to the weather. Food prices at the resort were very reasonable, and the airport shuttle service was affordable and reliable. For exploring, it’s a quick 30-minute taxi ride to Patong and about an hour to Old Phuket Town, making day trips easy. Negatives: The hotel’s location on a small hill was something we were aware of when booking, but the daily walk up could be tiring, especially after a long day. While the breakfast was decent and the kids enjoyed the fresh fruit, the selection lacked variety, particularly in meat options, which was a bit disappointing. Overall: The pros significantly outweigh the cons, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Horizon Karon. We’d happily return and recommend it to families looking for a relaxing and fun stay in Phuket!
