The Chom Kwang resort is situated in a rural area on the outskirts of Mukdahan. When we finally found it, we were greeted by Mr. Thong (Tonga), who seems to be primarily responsible for running everything. We booked two VIP rooms and two standard rooms. However, the VIP rooms do not exist so we settled for four standard rooms. The rooms, which were actually bungalows, were clean and tidy and set in a nice aspect. In fact, we were the only guests so we had the resort to ourselves. We were keen to have a meal at the restaurant, but sadly, the chef had gone home early, so we ended up spending the evening having a few drinks with Mr. Thong. He revealed that the resort was still being developed and eventually the VIP rooms would be built. Upon reflection, our stay was pleasant and Mr. Thong was a very gracious host. But I feel that the finished product will have a lot more to offer.
