18 reviewsEastern Hotel is the archetypal workhorse of Thai provincial hotels. It was probably built in the 1960s and in many respects is showing its age. But it has three important things going for it. First, it is immaculately clean. Second the price is right - THB 850 a night for a twin room, breakfast included. And third, it is close to the city center. As such it is obviously popular with Thai businessmen and tourists on a budget. The reception staff speak reasonable English and are welcoming and professional. We had a problem with the toilet leaking, but a phone call to front desk saw a tradesman sent to our room within a couple of minutes and the problem was fixed within ten minutes. So ten out of ten for good reaction to customer needs. When it does come time for Eastern Hotel to renovate and upgrade, I would suggest they double glaze the front rooms, because even though we were on the seventh floor, there was a constant buzz of traffic noise from the highway outside.
