Vikasa Yoga Retreat Koh Samui

I cannot express how much I loved staying at Vikasa! It was truly one of the best places I've been to. There is a certain magic there- in the staff, in the yoga instructors, and in the people who are drawn to a place like this. It is a wonderful place to disconnect from the busyness of life and to be present. The views are stunning, whether you are at the swimming pool, having a meal in the Life Cafe, or sitting on the meditation rocks. I stayed in a Prana Cabana room, just a staircase away from the beach! Each morning, I sat on my balcony watching the sunrise, listening to the sound of birds and waves. It was such a grounding way to start the day. All of the yoga salas overlook the ocean. There is nothing like meditating in the sala and then opening your eyes to that view! The salas are clean and spacious. There are a couple of cats (maybe more) on the grounds, one of whom sometimes enjoys hanging out in the yoga sala. She is so sweet and it was such a joy to share a mat with her during one class! As someone new to yoga, this experience has really opened up a whole new world. Both the yoga instructors and new friends were generous with their knowledge, helping me understand the deeper, more meditative side of yoga. The instructors were respectful of everyone's different levels. Their guidance, helpful adjustments, and clear passion made every session feel both doable and inspiring. I did the ‘Recharge’ personal program with Kara, the Wellness Practitioner, and I highly recommend the program and Kara herself. The experience was truly eye-opening. Kara brought such authenticity and intentionality to every session. She genuinely listened, creating a safe and supportive space where I felt comfortable sharing my thoughts and asking questions. Kara was really knowledgeable and I feel so privileged to have been led by her in those sessions. Although the program lasted only a week, it felt far more impactful. I’m entering into this new season with a refreshed mindset and a stronger sense of self. The food…! It was so healthy and SO delicious. The variety really gave me the opportunity to try new things! My favorite part was the soups at dinner- each night, there was a different soup and the flavors were some of the best I’ve ever had. There is also a strawberry-banana smoothie that was unbelievably good. I will probably dream of that smoothie! The staff were equally incredible- genuinely warm and attentive. Many made the effort to remember our names and/or room numbers, which felt so personal and kind. I would especially like to highlight Zee from the cafe - her positivity made me smile every time I saw her. I’m sad to have left such a special place, but I am grateful for having had an experience that is hard to leave behind. I'm feeling at peace and energized, with new strategies and tools to begin to apply. Thank you to everyone at Vikasa who made my week one of the best!
