Sunrise Bungalow

You may have read some negative comments about this accommodation. I’d like to reassure you that this is a great place to stay, if you understand the owner. The owner loves her bungalows and has her way of running her business. Because of humidity, it is difficult to dry towels etc. So they are changed every three days, no exceptions. It is a hot tropical place and there are insects about. The owner, an ex hippie will not use pesticides. If you find an occasional bug, just get a glass and remove it to the outside. We had one cockroach in nine days. Easily removed. No stress. Also she is strict about sand in the shower and seemed a bit bossy when we were checking in. So you just need to wash your feet before entering your room. This withstanding, the bungalows are in a fabulous location on the beach and it has its own small village/ community for the evenings away from the noise of Lamai centre which if you want the noise is 200m up the beach. We would only stay here if we revisited Koh Samui. It’s a relaxed place in a beautiful location and is non imposing. But if you expect 5 star pandering, this is not the place for you. We loved it.
