Sairee Center Guesthouse

We stayed here our final 4 nights before we left ko tao and we loved it. We had a room on the top floor (room D1) and the price was cheap for what we got. The room was large and clean with plenty of storage space and a fridge (which a lot of places don't have). The WiFi was brilliant most of the time, easily streaming Netflix and YouTube at the same time. The shower was hot which is another rarity, although if you flushed the toilet you had to wait 5 mins before you could use it. The view from the big sliding door window is a beautiful mountain forest backdrop and if you walk to the end of the shared balcony it opens out onto a big sunlit terrace from where you could see the forest terrain one side and the ocean the other, which made for some lovely sunsets with a beer! There were towels provided but they werent great, but we had our own so I didn't care. The room did get hot at night but all fan only rooms in Thailand do at this time of year. Maybe they could do with a second fan but it didn't spoil our stay, we just wet a towel and stuck it in the fridge to cool us down at night. The location is great. Surrounded by shops, restaurants, street food and bars and only a short walk to the beach. The woman at reception was really nice and booked our trip to ko lanta for us without any problems. There is a 1000 baht deposit for the key and towels but we got that back the night before we checked out because we were leaving so early the next day and she didn't have a problem with that. Definitely stay here and try and get a room on the top floor.
