5 reviewsif you want to escape the touristy thailand and get some rest, take a taxi from the airport to on of the closest islands to bangkok called: koh si chang. it will cost you around 15-20 euro. he will bring you to the small boat pier where you can get a 0.6 beer while waiting for the tiny boat that goes to the island. when i booked the "boat room" i also asked them for a ride from the island port and so someone came to pick us up with the tuk tuk and brought us to the resort. its a bit shabby and old, but aircon works and it was clean. the "boat front - terrace" from the pictures is actually really nice to sit at sundown. we didn't see any other guests while we were there (for 2 nights). there was a nice local seafood restaurant just across from it. it might not be a place for everyone, as it si definitely far from a luxury place to stay but it was amazing for a runaway from work and the buzzing city.
