Casa Kandariya

I stayed in the Purple room for 5 days in October. Miss Lee Ching is the owner and the pre-trip correspondence was first class. She's a busy lady but always had time to reply no matter how trivial the question, even reminding me to confirm my ferry arrival time from Koh Samui so she could make sure the driver was there to meet me. The room is basic but beautifully decorated, with everything you'd need, including a safe. Good size bed, reliable Wifi, aircon, hot shower and tv. A self - contained kitchen with a fridge and all cooking amenities. A nice covered deck with a hammock for those lazy days watching the rain. A really nice stay all round. Miss Ching also arranged a rental bike to be delivered to the house from Moon Travel and at a better rate than most offered on the island. Nice touch. Location: a couple of hundred metres inland from the 7-Eleven in Chaloklum, and a short hop round the corner from the Sail Rock diving centre. Chaloklum is a pretty little fishing village, very quiet and laid back, but with quite a few restaurants, cafes, mini marts etc. to choose from. Nice beach too, all very chilled and a different experience from the bustle of Haadrin and Thongsala. The houses at Casa Kandariya are set in a well maintained development with a concrete access road and each one has its own colour theme and style. Great value for money, really not expensive and good for long term stays as well as a short one like mine. Good for singles and couples. Highly recommended.
