Koh Kood Cabana

This resort is on Koh Kood Island which is 50kms from the nearest Thai port. The island has many remote Thai villages spread amongst it's unspoiled mountains, waterfalls and forests. Fishing is a major business so the working fishing villages are a fascinating stop. The beaches are pristine white and the sea clear crystal blue. There are quite a number of resorts spotted along the coast, some on the beaches and others the inland waterways. For my money, the beaches offer the best all round options, with snorkelling, swimming, walking the beach and exploring rockeries something you can do all day or just prop under a palms tree and read or sleep. Cabana is probably a 2-3 star facility. The cabins are a little primitive, although with air conditioning and all,the necessary bed and bathroom facilities. The food is all prepared freshly and is traditional sea food Thai style. Meals are 4 times a day, in an open sided large dining and entertaining area. Anything you need, just ask and it's there with a smile and pleasant attitude always. Just don't expect proactive services in your rooms as you'd expect in a 5 star. By comparison it's a little basic. That said, we had the most relaxing and memorable holiday we've ever had. The surroundings and simplicity is so relaxing that you ignore the short comings. We'd go back any time! If 5 star service and facilities, with waiters laid on and acres of concrete and finely cultivated gardens this is not for you! Best value us the 3 day package which gives you room, 4 meals a day, snorkelling trip, tour to the waterfalls. You can then add days as you like. Best transport is a scooter, the roads are empty and max 30kph, so very safe.
