26 reviewsSo, I've just read the other reviews. I've been travelling for over a year now and have stayed in all types of accommodation, from 0 stars to 5 stars, on most continents too. So let's have some perspective. This isn't a 5 star hotel, it isn't priced or marketed as one either! As for the price, currently it's 450 baht per night for a double air conditioned room with a fridge (including freezer section), a TV, small balcony and your own private bathroom with hot water. I stayed in room 13 (first floor), the room is HUGE!!! Think about the size of a room you would book in any European city (in this price range) and you would be booking a shoe box, if it's even possible to get a room in this price range! However, we are not in Europe! So, let's look at Bangkok, the price would be similar but probably without air conditioning, usually a fan only, also the room would be much smaller and probably wouldn't have a balcony, (very useful if you are a smoker). Or should we look at Hanoi in Vietnam? For the price you would be looking more at a hostel with the possibility of a hotel but of a very poor standard. The room does need a bit of a paint job, the mattress is a bit springy but nothing that isn't manageable for a few nights (considering the price remember). The balcony doesn't have any furniture, that is a slight pain, only slight though. On the whole the the room is very good, very large and quiet with great wifi, airconditioning and hot powerful shower. Now for 450 baht it's a steal compared to most accommodation that is available on this island. The location. Great! When you come off the ferry just jump in a white taxi (it's 60 baht per person) they may say 80 baht but then when your in the driver will ask for your money, simply say "how much"? He will say 60 baht, because that is the price! The hotel is situated with little food stalls at the end of the street (60 meters) with a 7/11 across the road (very quiet road) and then you have a beautiful soft golden beach. Walk down the side of the "coconut beach resort" and you have the beach and a selection of beautiful little resorts that you can buy a drink and enjoy there facilities. You can also rent a scooter at the hotel, reasonable price too, (I shopped around). All the staff I have met have been very nice, welcoming and full of smiles. So, when I think of all the places in the world I've been to and all the hotels, campsites, hostels etc etc and I think of this place, for the price, the location, defiantly for the airconditioning then I would have to give this place a big thumbs up. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. If your looking for a 5 star hotel then I suggest you look to open your wallet to a 5 star price! Enjoy your trip.
