Bailan Hut Resort & Restaurant

I came here per a friends recommendation, and was not disappointed. I planned to stay 1-3 nights and stayed 6 because it was so peaceful and relaxing;) I came with two friends and we had the place all to ourselves as it was edging on low season and barely anyone was there. I paid 400 bhat a night for a private room and connected bath, (which is super cheap if u can split if you're staying two in the room). The bungalows are basic rooms with comfy mattress, (the comforter a bit heavy for the heat though) mosquito net and fan and the quirky bright paint colors make it fun. My friends had the room next to me and we could each chill on our stoops (small balcony) and enjoy the peace and quiet you won't find 10 mins away at popular lonely beach area. We loved being able to go to the restaurants and bars in lonely beach but come home to quiet without annoying music blasting all night. We drive scooters and I must say this was helpful because you'll want to get around this way. Basically you need one everywhere in Koh Chang because it's so huge and getting around can add up $$ if you're paying one cab at a time. If you don't drive a scooter and want to walk everywhere this isn't the spot. (However, there are a few restaurants on the main road a few minutes walk away- and on site restaurant if you don't want to leave.). But if you want beautiful views, peace and quiet with a place to rest and recharge for a fantastic deal, this is the place. The owner is very nice and helped with booking bus and next travel too.
