location is perfect: a quiet road very close to the old city; rooms with double bed, a fan and a private bathroom are really cheap; the rooms are basic but clean and the shower works; sure the chair in the room is 50 years old, but you can sit on it and it does not fall apart.

good standard for the price

It's a simple hotel, but very good location, right next to the walled area. You can go visit many of the temples. The rooms are clean, and it's very economical. We sleep for 8 euros a night. Recommended, we'd rehearse.

We stayed at Chiangmai Inn Guesthouse for 3 nights in a room with a fan. It was an ok stay and a nice value for the (amazingly low) price. However, don't expect too much. The rooms as big enough but with very little furniture. There is no real shower in the bathroom - there's just a shower head with no curtain or barrier from the rest of the bathroom - so whenever you take a shower, practically the whole bathroom gets flooded. Our sink was leaking too, but since the bathroom was wet from us taking a shower anyways, it didn't make sense to report it to the stuff. There seems to be just one person at the reception desk who speaks English. She mostly work in the mornings, so if you want some help in the afternoon or in the night, you better try elsewhere. I would recommend you to stay here if you are on a very tight budget. However, if you can afford to pay a bit more, you might be better off staying somewhere else. 

You get what you pay for

The floors were sticky and dirty. The bathroom was gross. The fan was a small one on a table as opposed to hanging up. Paper thin walls. The place didn't have much of an atmosphere to it either. The staff were nice though.

200 baht a night for a room with air conditioning is fine, you can also borrow scooters for 200 baht a day.

For the money, it's all right.

Don't expect a really fancy hotel for that price, but the room where we slept was clean and with confortable beds. It's not inside the old city but is just nearby. 

Warning!! Don't book a jungle trekking on the hostel, it is a fraud! We had a good day but not what they promised: we didn't visit a ethnic village and instead of a 4WD, our transport was a "Sorng taa ou"...

Really cheap

Lady who serves breakfast is lovely but other staff are abrupt and sometimes plain rude. We decided to get a motorbike for a couple of days to get around the city and went through all the fine details with the man who rented them by reading the small print and signing the contract. He covered how to operate the bike and made sure he was very thorough checking the bike for scratches. However, failed to mention we needed an international bike licence. I realise this is probably very obvious and the thought did enter our minds, but when he failed to bring the matter up we didn't question it and assumed the licensing laws must be somewhat different in Thailand. Needless to say we were pulled by police and fined 400 bahts on the spot. When we questioned it with him he got very defensive and laughed it off telling us it wasn't his job to ask for a licence. Surely if your providing a service to tourists it's only fair you inform them of the laws and risks. If we had known we needed a licence we wouldn't have rented the bike in the first place.

Good location but that's as far as it goes.

Unfriendly hotel staff/owner. Very quickly they want you to pay in advance the days you intend to stay, because they know you will not like to spent more then one night in unclean bed sheets, the most dirtiest room you can probably find in Chang Mai, we don't even talk about the bathroom with dropping ceilings and a WIFI that poorly works if ever. Avoid this place. Greed is outbalancing quality here.

Cheap but dirty and noisy

The staff is friendly and place is located in a smaller street, but it is easy to find it. Because of this it is quiet, calm place to stay. They have tables and chairs in the yard with a nice atmosphere. 
The beds are can buy breakfast which was quite good for 60 bahts.
I think this is a very nice guesthouse with really good value/price.

Very good and affordable place to stay in Chiangmai


Cheap and worthy. It's not inside the old city but is just nearby. Don't expect a luxury room, but it is clean and comfortable. I highly recommend it!! 
Note: Don't book the trekking on the hostel. We book the one day trekking and it was expensive for what it was.
