We stayed at the Blue Lagoon for a week in February. Once you accept that your paying £10 a night for a large room with air conditioning in a perfect location and are realistic enough not to expect the Hilton Hotel you will fall in love its this place, it is typical Cha am, laidback to the point of sleep but also the hub of the community. On Monday is the quiz night well attended by local expats, Tuesday is a darts tournament, both well attended with a buffet. The family that run this place are charming, always a smiling and happy, they can not do enough to help you. When we arrived it was throwing it down with rain, there are very few taxis in Cha am we were stranded under a shop front for over an hour. We phoned the hotel to see if they could call a cab for us he couldn’t get one so came out in the pouring rain on a little scooter. He took us on the back of the scooter one at a time, cases as well it was comical, this shows how far they will go to help you. I offered payment which was declined. Wednesday Cha am closes 😳 but he advised us on food and the night market for the rest of the week. This place is in the centre of Soi Plaza with great places all around and 5 minutes walk to the beach. I highly recommend the Blue Lagoon Guest House and Bar, it is incredible value for money and a lovely place to stay.
