Sukhothai Hotel Cha-am

Superlatives cannot describe this wonderful hotel. First, a luxurious Mercedes was sent by the hotel to pick me up from the beautiful Bangcock airport and I was received by an impeccably clad array of porters who whisked away my luggage. On entering the giant reception area, beautiful front desk personnel greet me in immaculate designer uniforms and asked me to sit down. After check-in preliminaries I was taken down a long colonnaded corridor past exciting looking public areas to explore .The cleanliness of the place delighted me especially the spotless windows with riparian views. In the middle of this water extravaganza were antique Thai sculptures and porticos beckoning a later view of whats in them. On entering my room, I was stunned by the beauty of the tique wood framed salon with a floor to ceiling view of a lotus pond, whose magnificent white blooms were the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen. Waiting for me in the room was a plate of chocolates and a bowl of fruit. What a wonderful welcoming gesture that was! A giant bed and sheik modern black granite and silver appointments lined both the room and the four-part bathroom, adorned with mirrors, exotic lighting, tub, European shower, private bath, and a chest full of goodies that they told me I was welcome to take home. What a marvelous room this was; the floors were beautifully finished wood, and the area was large. Descending to the ground level, I discovered beautiful shops, public bathrooms that looked like churches, and a giant swimming pool. I had the pleasure of meeting the general manager, Thomas Schmitt-Glaeser, and his associates, who run this hotel like clockwork. Every employee impressed me with their kindness and their consideration, especially the front desk manager: an English educated Thai--Sean Vayakornvichitr--who made my stay so delightful that I would adopt him if that were possible. Every day I would eat the most wonderful breakfast in the dining room, composed, i'm certain, of over a thousand items. Excellent cutlery and dinner service was always available. This hotel, in my estimation, is the best hotel in the world. I have stayed in beautiful hotels across the globe; none to compare with this one. Hidden away between tall skyscrapers, you enter a garden: a paradise. A place where you can feel instantly at home. Thank you to everyone for making my stay so wonderful.
