Backstage Inn

Here I am sitting at the front Patio of Backstage Inn, Patong, Phuket while sipping my morning coffee and writing this review. This is my 3rd in a row visit to Backstage Inn. That being said, it clearly shows how much I love this hotel. You might be wondering why I say so. Well, for the price you're paying, the rooms are really spacious and big with a beautiful en-suite bathroom and all the basic amenities that you would need in a hotel room. Secondly, the location plays the biggest role in my choice of staying here. It's merely a 10 minute walk to Paradise Complex or the beach. The location is so centralized, I don't have to pay for taxis or tuk tuks to travel around. When I'm really tired, I just flag down a motor taxi and it would cost me only THB50 for a ride to Paradise. Make sure you negotiate it down to THB50 (MYR 4) as that's the normal price. With the pavements being fully done now, it's so easy to walk into Paradise/Bangla Rd/Jungceylon. Thirdly, the warm hospitality and great customer service. As soon as I reached the hotel, Rob, the owner who is a Dutch man married to a local Thai, greeted me with a big smile and got me checked in within minutes. Even gave me a nice and fresh wet towel and a welcome drink. The staffs carried my bags to my favorite room. Room 402 which faces the beautiful streets of Patong. I'm very used to the noise of Patong streets but if you require quietness during your sleep, is suggest you opt for a room facing the back. And oh yeah, while you're here, do not miss the breakfast. It's fantastically amazing. My favorite is the Medium Dutch breakfast which comes with bread, eggs, sausages, hams, bacon, jam and butter. So yummy. There's also free wifi and the internet speed is really fast. Did a speed test and it was about 2Mbps. The staffs are really friendly and would try to cater to all of your needs. Also if you're here during the high season (November-January/Feb) don't miss out Backstage Inn's Wednesdy night Sunset BBQ Party on the rooftop of the hotel. It's also the place to be if you're traveling solo, as you tend to meet many solo travellers. Backstage Inn also works with Ulf of Phuket Gay Homestay at Neramit Hill for the ultimate and best Weekly Saturday All Men BBQ & Pool Party. Do no miss this. In a nutshell, this is the place to be when you're in Patong. My next holiday here is in April for 5 nights and I would stay here without a shadow of a doubt.
