Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge

Incredibly beautiful lodge situated in an amazing part of the Northern Serengeti. We stayed here for 3 nights in December and couldn't have been happier with our experience. Beautiful rooms, perfect beds, gorgeous bathroom, outdoor shower, The staff were, to a person, friendly, helpful, courteous and took the whole experience to the next level. Lemala camps in general seemed less fussy and luxury focused than another well known companies properties, but the tradeoff was a more relaxed, genuine feel. The food was also top notch, as was the wait staff. I'd also like to put a plug in for visiting off season - we were there in December and had not only the lodge but also the entire area between their location and the Mara river virtually to ourselves. The landscape was stunningly beautiful with the tall, green grass and wildlife sightings, while admittedly a bit more challenging, were still incredibly rewarding, with lions, leopards, rhinos being the highlights. Also visiting the Mara river with not a single other person in sight, with dozens upon dozens of hippos and crocodiles present, was a real treat. Finally, I'd be remiss if I didn't give a shout out to our amazing guide, Joshua, who was not only incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife, topography, geology and plant life but was also a joy to spend our safari drives with. Highly, highly recommended.
