Mbalageti Serengeti

A unique location on a small hill over the Mbalageti river,  very comfortable and spacious luxury tents, good (not exceptional) cuisine and attentive staff, not to mention the small « details » (that are quite often not on par with the claimed standing in other places) like good wifi, hot and abundant water etc ….. everything concurred to make our two nights stay perfect. And of course, the fauna is diverse and abundant in the plain along the access road, and the Grumeti river with its numerous hippos is close by, a wonderful stay in a wonderful place.

I cannot recommend this lodge enough to stay at during your visit to the Serengeti. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. In fact, we had a special request for one of our meals and the manager went out of her way to accommodate us. The lodge was clean and comfortable and beautiful. The views from the dining room are to die for. Highly recommended!!!

I really suggest Mbalageti Luxury Camp. It’s a magic place not to miss when visiting the Serengeti National Park. From the dining room you have a fantastic view and you can see all kind of animals (lions, zebras, buffaloes, baboons…). The Mbalageti staff is extremely nice and professional, all doing their best to make your staying unforgettable. The rooms are beautiful and immersed in the nature. The food is delicious. I’ll never forget this lovely lodge! Thank you for everything!

Beautiful views of the Serengeti. Everyone was welcoming and helpful! Beautiful rooms with a bathroom like a spa to treat yourself after a long day of travel. We enjoyed the views from the deck with a delicious cocktail before dinner. Each meal was a lovely smorgasbord of options.

This place is so amazing. From the time that you check in, the staff make you feel very welcomed. Saru was the manager on duty and she was so helpful. Since it was a slow week she gave us a room with the best views. The dinner was amazing, the breakfast was delicous. I cant say anything was not perfect.

Mbalageti Safari Camp was the perfect base for our safari adventure. Saru and her team went above and beyond to ensure our group had everything we needed and the outdoor dining experience on our last day was the perfect way to end our stay.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay, compliments to the amazing customer service and clean accommodation.

The view from the resort is breathtaking and walking to the restaurant and reception is a little adventure on its own. The nature is preserved and you get a guide to walk you to and fro your rooms.

The restaurant and the infinity like swimming pool is amazing and the view you get from the restaurant and pool is just wow.

The experience was truly relaxing and calming.

The most incredible place with the most amazing staff. Everyone did ABSOLUTELY everything they could to make mine ava my two friend’s experience the most memorable one possible. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel at home and gave us everything we could imagine and more! Over and above  that, the room, food, and amenities were also incredible! 

The most amazing part, however, was the last night they created a fireside private dining experience that was an amazing bbq! It was unreal - would highly recommend staying here!

What a spectacular glamping hotel!  This was by far my favorite hotel during our recent trip to Tanzania. One first arrives to an open very rural yet comfortable lobby, which consists of a large hut with various sculptures and interesting pieces of art. Nice areas to sit with free coffee and tea. After a 5-minute walk on a rough terrain surrounded by gazelles, zebras and other small animals one arrives at the restaurant/bar/pool area (they also can bring you in golfcarts if preferred) .  Wow! This complex is in a place with a 180-degree view! We were able to see the sunset to the left and the sunrise to the right and in front of us, The Serengeti with all its glory.  We could see from above, the hundreds of migrating zebras and Wildebeest, and many other animals. The buffet was very good and plentiful and the personnel very helpful and friendly.  The tent chalets are facing either West or East and they all are very private and with a wonderful view. The trails to get to them are well defined but rocky. These are fancy tents on stilts with amazing décor from around the region.  The bed was very comfortable, and they provided all sort of toiletries.  They gave us a communication radio to ask for any needs 24/7. There are several instructions to follow, for example the times when hot water will be available and when to charge the electronics.  They also use solar electricity during the day.  Obviously, we are surrounded by animals and so we should not be walking at night by ourselves, we used the radio to ask for a security escort to go to the bar area. Don’t be surprised if you see bugs in the tents.  It is just like you would  see if you were camping anywhere. The door should always be closed because the monkeys and other animals will try to get in the rooms. The last night they offered our group the most amazing BBQ dinner by a giant  firepit,  and we danced and sang with the crew.  I really want to return to this place.

The trip to get to the accommodation was a challenge but very much worth while! The big surprise was the room with an amazing view: we looked over the park  and in the 'backyard' we saw elephants walking in the distance. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed an extensive breakfast and dinner. The room was very clean and very nice decorated. We definitely will visit this accommodation again when on a safari in Serengeti!

We stayed at this amazing luxury camp for one night for a short weekend stay. But it seemed that time slowed down when we were there and I hope to remember every minute of our stay. The staff was so welcoming, gentle and accommodating - it felt like a dream. Romadon, was so thorough and helpful when we checked in. It had been a long day out in the plains and we were very tired. As soon as we arrived we didn't lift a finger. Dinner orders were made when we checked in and it was ready for us as soon as arrive at the dining room. The grounds were so dilberate and enjoyable. The paths connecting all the buildings, the artwork done by traditional artists and modern artists. The sweeping sleeping accommodations that were so spacious it felt like we were in a palace. If you like privacy and a unique stay - chose this camp! It's a 40 min drive off the main road just east of the western corridor. There is no other camp near it within miles and miles. The staff, the food, the accommodations get a perfect 10 in my book and I can't wait to come back. 


Mbalagetti is the best!

This is a wonderful lodge! We were upgraded to the Presidential suite and loved our accommodations. The beds were comfortable, the views spectacular and the night time sounds enchanting. The bathrooms were large and luxurious with a giant soaking tube with a Serengeti view! 
Even more spectacular than the architecture was the incredibly friendly staff. From the security guards to the managers and waitstaff, everyone worked hard to make our experience special. They brought us to the dining area/pool early to watch sunrise and prepared coffee early. They readied towels for us to take a swim as the sun came up. The breakfast was extravagant with a large fruit plate, potatoes (sweet and regular), eggs, crepes, pastries. Our dinner was also delicious and included 4 courses. 
We only spent one night at this magical lodge (due to time constraints) but I would love to come back and spend more time exploring this area. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!!
