This was the second lodge we stayed. Our lodge was situated at a vantage point backing off on to the dense jungle and farm land with undisturbed views. The management and staff were most welcoming and made us feel at home from the point we arrived. It was always service with a small and the staff would go out of their way to meet all our demands, Including dietary. The lodges were clean and maintained to high standards. We had the most amazing three nights at the place and would strongly recommend it. Sitting on the porch one could not only see the ngorongoro crater rim but had amazing views of the  sunset.  The restraunt staff were highly trained and always provided an impeccable service with a smile. We created some happy memories which we cherish for a long time. Thank you for our lovely experience. We highly recommend this place

The most beautiful place and location to stay om the planet

We stayed at Karatu Simba Lodge for two nights of our week honeymoon Safari trip, once on the second night, and once on the fifth night. The staff at the Karatu Simba Lodge are so lovely and friendly, the rooms were great, spotlessly clean with beautiful views. We were given the Lion lodge on both of our stays; it was appreciated to have the same room in such a great spot. We arrived to beautiful flowers on the bed spelling out ‘Happy Honeymoon’ which was a lovely touch. The food was incredible, and the packed safari lunch was also lovely, with lots of food and choice to keep you going on a long safari day. The staff work so hard at this hotel, we were made to feel so welcome on both visits, and it was nice to be remembered on our second check in. The pool area was lovely, with great views, I had a swim in the pool which was a great way to relax. Turn down service was a lovely touch. Asante Sana to all the amazing staff at Karatu Simba Lodge!

A Great Stay

Fabulous! Staff are so friendly.  Danny goes above and beyond to provide the best service. Food is great and there’s a lovely little bar with outside seating and a fire pit. Small pool area in lovely location. Lodge is slightly dated but this doesn’t detract in any way from the experience.  Would definitely recommend and will certainly be returning. Thank you Danny and team for making our stay so memorable.

Lovely Karatu Simba Lodge

Our tour Operator booked this lodge for safari tours at the Ngorongoro Crater. The lodge is located in the middle of a breathtaking landscape. We received a very warm welcome. All the staff are very friendly and the food was plentiful and very tasty. We were provided with extensive and delicious packed lunches for our excursions. Good WiFi available without complicated registration. We will always remember the very friendly staff, the unique location, the excellent food and the hospitality. Thank you very much for this special stay. We would love to come back.

We love this place

Booked through our guide company.  We enjoyed our stay here--the service was great, rooms clean, and food was excellent.  Staff was eager to help with any concerns you had.  Lots of rooms and all amenities worked great.  No complaints at all, and would stay here again.

My suggestion is please for Nature  start using reusable lunch boxes and plates for lunch to avoid making so much trash everyday
Its very appreciatable to be sustaiable these days and care more for environment

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a safari tour, the staff were helpful nothing was too much trouble.
The rooms are spacious and well equipped. 
There is a lovely fire pit area which you can sit around in the evening. 
The food is good we really enjoyed our stay here thank you

Great lodge welcoming staff

From the moment we arrived at the lodge, we were treated like VIP’s. We were greeted with fresh juice and welcomed warmly. Dinner was delicious and presented in a way that you would expect from an upscale restaurant. The service was very attentive; it’s the first time I have ever had someone ask if I wanted fresh hot coffee so that I didn’t have to drink warm coffee! Breakfast the following morning was a pleasant experience as well. 

The rooms were spacious and clean. Remember that this a tented lodge so there is no heating or cooling. It was a little brisk when we returned from dinner so we were concerned that we might be cold at night. Fortunately, when we got into bed, we were pleasantly surprised by the two hot water bed bottles that they had left to warm the bed up for us. We were told that it may take some time in the mornings for water to heat up but it took less than a minute. If you’re concerned at all about staying in a permanent tent lodge, don’t be, at least not here.

The atmosphere I felt at this lodge was that of a home. The way the staff interacted with us was if they owned the facility and was proud of the work they did. We never felt that this was just a job to anyone. Well done Karatu Simba Lodge! 👍

Treated like royalty

The hotel location is  on a hill with a nice view. The food is very good and the staff very attentive and kind. Jillien at the reception would always try to help. Barak was the best waiter we had in this trip in Tansania. Will never forget his smile. The Tent are very big with all you need and a nice balcony. 

African hospitality at its best!

Fantastic lodge at a serene and peaceful location. Authentic and very comfortable accommodation. Excellent service from all the staff. Our trip was personalised to our requirements. Highly recommend this lodge and safari package.
